A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that you obeyed the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that you defueled the center tank and moved the fuel to a different tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(3) Make sure that the remaining fuel is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(4) Make sure that MLG door 734( 744) is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 147(148).

Subtask 57-17-11-914-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the mating surfaces of the seal and the access cover (1) with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) on the new seal (2):
(a) For access panel 147AZ: the new AIPC 57-17-05-03-090 SEAL (2) or the new AIPC 57-17-85-03-330 SEAL (2)
(b) For access panel 148AZ: the new AIPC 57-17-05-01-080 SEAL (2) or the new AIPC 57-17-85-01-120 SEAL (2).
(3) Install the seal (2) on the access cover (1).
(4) Make sure that the seal (2) is correctly installed in its groove and that it has the correct orientation.
(5) Clean the surface around the seal (2) and remove the unwanted sealant with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 57-17-11-210-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the mating surfaces of the seal and the access cover (1) with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) on the new seal (2):
(a) For access panel 147AZ: the new AIPC 57-17-05-03-090 SEAL (2) or the new AIPC 57-17-85-03-330 SEAL (2)
(b) For access panel 148AZ: the new AIPC 57-17-05-01-080 SEAL (2) or the new AIPC 57-17-85-01-120 SEAL (2).
(3) Install the seal (2) on the access cover (1).
(4) Make sure that the seal (2) is correctly installed in its groove and that it has the correct orientation.
(5) Clean the surface around the seal (2) and remove the unwanted sealant with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
B. Bonding Strip Integrity-Check
(1) Do an inspection of the bonding strips in the center wing box. Make sure that they:

- Are correctly installed
- Do not have corrosion
- Are not damaged.
C. Installation of Access Cover 147AZ(148AZ)
(1) Put the access cover (1) in position on the frame.
(2) Hold the access cover (1) and install the washers (8) and (7) and the screws (6).
(3) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 0.9 and 0.8 m.daN (79.65 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(4) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(5) Install the bonding strip (5), the washer (4) and the bolt (3).
(6) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(7) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.42 and 0.38 m.daN (37.17 and 33.63 lbf.in )

(3) If placards are damaged, missing, have paint on them or you cannot easily read them, replace them at the next maintenance check.
(4) Hold the access cover (1) and install the washers (8) and (7) and the screws (6).
(5) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 0.9 and 0.8 m.daN (79.65 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(6) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(7) Install the bonding strip (5), the washer (4) and the bolt (3).
(8) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.42 and 0.38 m.daN (37.17 and 33.63 lbf.in )

Subtask 57-17-11-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE WARNING/CAUTION PLACARDS ARE INSTALLED AND YOU CAN EASILY READ THEM. THESE PLACARDS TELL PERSONS THAT THERE IS A POSSIBLE LOW OXYGEN CONTENT IN:
(1) Do a visual inspection to see if placards: - THE AREA BEHIND THE ACCESS PANEL(S)
- THE ADJACENT AREAS WHEN THE ACCESS PANEL(S) IS(ARE) OPEN.
- Are damaged
- Are missing
- Have paint on them.
(3) If placards are damaged, missing, have paint on them or you cannot easily read them, replace them at the next maintenance check.
(4) Hold the access cover (1) and install the washers (8) and (7) and the screws (6).
(5) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 0.9 and 0.8 m.daN (79.65 and 70.80 lbf.in )
. (6) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(7) Install the bonding strip (5), the washer (4) and the bolt (3).
(8) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.42 and 0.38 m.daN (37.17 and 33.63 lbf.in )
. D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(1) Do a status report (BITE) of the fuel-quantity indicating system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-740-001).
(2) Do a functional (BITE) test (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
Subtask 57-17-11-650-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 57-17-11-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a status report (BITE) of the fuel-quantity indicating system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-740-001).
(2) Do a functional (BITE) test (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
NOTE: These tests are only applicable if you do a maintenance work in the center wing-box area.
G. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) If you did a fuel tank repair and there is a risk of remaining unwanted material in the tank, do the steps that follow:
(a) Start the engine and let it operate to flush the contamination from the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-004).
(b) If necessary, replace the fuel filter element at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 730000-C4-1 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-10-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-10-400-002).
(c) For the Extended Range Operations for Two-Engine Aeroplanes (ETOPS) only, do the operational check of the air release valves at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 282100-03 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-710-008).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 57-17-11-210-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you did a fuel tank repair and there is a risk of remaining unwanted material in the tank, do the steps that follow:
(a) Start the engine and let it operate to flush the contamination from the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-004).
(b) If necessary, replace the fuel filter element at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 730000-C4-1 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-10-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-10-400-002).

Subtask 57-17-11-210-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you did a fuel tank repair and there is a risk of remaining unwanted material in the tank, do the steps that follow:
(a) Start the engine and let it operate to flush the contamination from the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-047).
(b) If necessary, replace the fuel filter at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 731000-I1-1 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-12-42-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-12-42-400-010).
(c) For the ETOPS only, do the operational check of the air release valves at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 282100-03 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-710-008).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

(b) If necessary, replace the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-400-801).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 57-17-11-210-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you did a fuel tank repair and there is a risk of remaining unwanted material in the tank, do the steps that follow:
(a) Start the engine and let it operate to flush the contamination from the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-822).
(b) If necessary, replace the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-400-801).
NOTE: Airbus recommends to replace the fuel filter element after you do an important work on the tank.
(c) For the ETOPS only, do the operational check of the air release valves at scheduled intervals (refer to MPD 282100-03 for scheduled intervals) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-710-008). (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
H. Leak Inspection
(1) Do a visual inspection of access cover 147AZ( 148AZ) to make sure that there are no leaks.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
