Installation of the Fuel Filter Element
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

POST SBE 79-0086
(1) Lubricate the new AIPC 73-12-42-80-040 SEALING RING (4) with theV10-077 lubricant (engine oil) and install the sealing ring (4) in the groove of the cap assembly (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010). Make sure that the sealing ring is not twisted when you install it.
(2) Make sure that the end seal outer diameter of the fuel filter element is aligned with the internal diameter of the cap assembly.
(3) Put the cap assembly (8) in position on the flange of the fuel cooled oil-cooler.
(4) Make sure that the cap assembly (8) is correctly installed and the holes are aligned.
(5) Install the washers (2) and the nuts (1), initially with your hand. Gradually tighten the nuts in a symmetrical sequence so a single nut is never subjected to the total spring force on the cap assembly.
(6) TORQUE the nuts to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN )
adhering strictly (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). Torque the nuts evenly and smoothly in a symmetrical sequence. This will ensure that the components move together gradually and do not become damaged (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(7) Install the fuel drain plug (6).
(8) Lubricate the new AIPC 73-12-42-80-070 SEALING RING (5) with the cleanV10-077 lubricant (engine oil) and install the sealing ring (5) on the fuel drain plug (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
