   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to move the flight controls.
4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Examine the fuselage to tail-cone seal (65).
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 53-58-11-420-054-A
B. Installation of the Tail Cone sling
   (1) Put the crane in position.
   (2) Attach the 98A55308440000 SLING-UNIVERSAL,TAIL PLANE.
   (3) Attach the universal sling at the tail cone.
NOTE: Do not use the hoisting lugs with this sling.

C. Installation of the Tail Cone
F Tail Cone Attachment ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Carefully operate the crane to lift the tail cone from the 98V53809003000 TRESTLE-SUPP,TAIL CONE.
   (2) Put the tail cone in the installation position on the aircraft.
   (3) Make sure that the tail cone bearing (67) aligns with the fuselage spigot (66).
   (4) Remove the installation adaptors (77) from the 98A53407566005 EXTRACTOR - ATTACH. BOLTS, TAIL CONE and install them on the bolts (70).
NOTE: The extractor with part number 98A53407566005 is an alternative to the extractor with part number 98A53407566002. If only the extractor with part number 98A53407566002 is available, then it is recommended to use it.
   (5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the bolts (70).
   (6) Install the bolts (70) in the upper fittings and the lower fittings. Make sure that you install the bolts (70) in the upper fittings first.
   (7) Remove the installation adaptors (77) from the bolts (70).
   (8) Install the nuts (72).
   (9) TORQUE the nuts (72) to between 1.75 and 1.40 m.daN (12.91 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) Safety the nuts (72) with the new
AIPC 53-58-04-01-040 COTTER PINS (73).
   (11) Put the access covers (69) in position and install the screws (68).
   (12) Tighten the screws (68).
   (13) Install the bolts (75), the bonding straps (71), the washers (76) and the nuts (74) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (14) Tighten the nuts (74).
   (15) Disconnect the sling from the tail cone.
   (16) If you removed the hoisting lugs, apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on them.
   (17) Install the hoisting lugs in the hoisting points with the eye end.
   (18) Apply Adhesive Tape-Hoisting points PVC Disks - (Material No.05TNB1) on the hoisting points.

C. Installation of the Tail Cone

   (1) Carefully operate the crane to lift the tail cone from the 98V53809003000 TRESTLE-SUPP,TAIL CONE.

   (7) Remove the installation adaptors (77) from the bolts (70).
   (8) Install the nuts (72).
   (9) TORQUE the nuts (72) to between 1.75 and 1.40 m.daN (12.91 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) Safety the nuts (72) with the new
AIPC 53-58-04-01-040 COTTER PINS (73).
   (11) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.
12ACC1) on the threads of the bolts (70) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (12) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the screws (68).
   (13) Put the access covers (69) in position and install the screws (68).
   (14) Tighten the screws (68).
   (15) Install the bolts (75), the bonding straps (71), the washers (76) and the nuts (74) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (16) Tighten the nuts (74).
   (17) Disconnect the sling from the tail cone.
   (18) If you removed the hoisting lugs, apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to them.
   (19) Install the hoisting lugs in the hoisting points with the eye end.
   (20) Apply Adhesive Tape-Hoisting points PVC Disks - (Material No.05TNB1) on the hoisting points.

D. Connection of the APU fuel line
   (1) Apply the Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-22-04-11-050 O-RINGS (51) or AIPC 28-22-84-11-050 O-RINGS (51) and install them on the shrouds (38) and (33).
   (2) Install the shroud (38) with the sleeve (54) over the fuel hose (37).
   (3) Remove the
98D28207510000 SLIDE CONE - APU FUEL and connect the nut (35) to the fitting (36).
   (4) Tighten the nut (35) and safety with the lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (5) Slide the sleeve (54) over the shroud (38) and the shroud (33).
   (6) Install the retaining springs (34) and safety with the lockwire 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (7) Align the shroud (38) with the sleeve (54) and the shroud (33). Install the clamp (52).
   (8) Put the bonding straps (32), (46) and (53) in position. Install and tighten the bolts (43), the washers (44) and the nuts (49) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

E. Installation of the APU air-intake flap
   (1) Install the APU air-intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-003).

G. Connection of the hydraulic hoses 1102GM, 1103GM, 3102GM and 3103GM
   (1) Remove the blanking plugs from the hoses.
   (2) Connect the hoses (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001) and paint a red mark on the connections.
   (3) Remove the hydraulic fluid leakage (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-615-002).

H. Connection of the Electrical Systems
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Put electrical harnesses 6533VN/DC1 and 4643VB/3P in position between FR78 and FR79 and install and tighten the clamps.
   (4) Connect electrical connector 7138VC/3E.
   (5) Safety the electrical connector:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety electrical connector 7138VC/3E with the 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (6) Put electrical harness 4210VB/3E in position between FR77 and FR80 and install and tighten the clamps.
   (7) Connect electrical connectors 7120VC-A/1M and 7118VC-A/1S.
   (8) Connect electrical connectors 7116VC and 11LJ.
   (9) Connect the electrical wiring to switch 8QC.
   (10) Connect the electrical connector:
WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Remove the MS25043-10DA CARTRIDGE CAP or the 6971-0010 CAP SHUNT-FIRE BOTTLE from cartridge 12WF.
     (c) Connect electrical connector 12WF-A to cartridge 12WF.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Connect electrical connector 11WF-A.
   (12) Connect electrical harnesses 6528VN/DC2, 6760VN/B1, 6761VN/DC1 and 6757VN/DC1.
   (13) Install and tighten the clamps on electrical harnesses 4213VB/1M and 4207VB/1M.
   (14) Connect electrical harness 7519VP.
   (15) Install electrical cable 6750VN/DC1.
   (16) Connect electrical connectors 21WG-A and 22WG-A.
   (17) Connect the cable lugs of electrical harness 4622VB/3G to terminal block 7508VT.
   (18) Install and tighten the clamps on electrical harness 4622VB/3G between FR77 and FR79.
   (19) Connect electrical connector 7527VC to the APU air-intake actuator.
   (20) Install and tighten the clamps on electrical harness 4631VB/1M.
Subtask 53-58-11-916-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
I. Protective Treatment
   (1) Apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the inside of the tail cone (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
Subtask 53-58-11-916-055-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
I. Protective Treatment
   (1) Apply a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) and a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to the inside of the tail cone. Do this from FR78 to FR80 below the STGR 13 LH and RH (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (2) Apply a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) to the inside of the tail cone. Do this from FR80 to FR84 below the STGR 13 LH and RH (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (3) Apply a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) and a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to the inside of the tail cone. Do this from FR84 to FR86 below the STGR 15 LH and RH (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (4) Apply a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) and a layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) around all of the forward face of the FR86 (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).

J. Do these Tests:
   (1) Do the operational test of the elevator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-34-00-710-001) and examine the hydraulic hoses 1102GM, 1103GM, 3102GM and 3103GM for leaks.
   (2) Do the operational test of the APU fire detection system (Ref. AMM TASK 26-13-00-710-001).
   (3) Do the operational test of the APU air-intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-00-710-004).
   (4) Do the operational test of the APU fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-22-00-710-001) and examine the APU fuel line for leaks.
   (5) Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008).
   (6) Do the operational test of the APU bleed-air system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
   (7) Do the operational test of the APU compartment lighting (Ref. AMM TASK 33-31-00-710-001).
   (8) Do the operational test of the navigation lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001).
   (9) Do the operational test of the anti-collision/strobe lighting (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).

   (1) Do the operational test of the elevator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-34-00-710-001) and examine the hydraulic hoses 1102GM, 1103GM, 3102GM and 3103GM for leaks.
   (2) Do the operational test of the APU fire detection system (Ref. AMM TASK 26-13-00-710-001).
   (3) Do the operational test of the APU air-intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-00-710-003).
   (4) Do the operational test of the APU fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-22-00-710-001) and examine the APU fuel line for leaks.
   (5) Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-010).
   (6) Do the operational test of the APU bleed-air system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
   (7) Do the operational test of the APU compartment lighting (Ref. AMM TASK 33-31-00-710-001).
   (8) Do the operational test of the navigation lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-00-710-001).
   (9) Do the operational test of the anti-collision/strobe lighting (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-00-710-002).

   (1) Close the access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801)
   (2) Close the access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
