A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) On the overhead panel, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit on hydraulic section 40VU
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (3) Depressurize the brake accumulator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-44-11-200-001).

C. Disconnection of the PTU Isolation Coupling
   (1) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (3) Obey the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
   (3) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic brake filter 2862GM to collect the unwanted hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-43-21-960-050-A
A. Replacement of the Clogging Indicator of the Hydraulic Brake Filter
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the clogging indicator (1).
   (2) Loosen and remove the clogging indicator (1) from the filter head (5).
   (3) Remove the packings (3) and (4) and the O-ring (2) from the clogging indicator (1).
   (4) Discard the O-ring (2) and the packings (3) and (4).
   (5) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (6) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (7) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (8) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the items that follow:
   (9) Install the new O-ring (2) and the new packings (3) and (4) to the clogging indicator (1).
   (10) Install the clogging indicator (1) to the filter head (5).
   (11) TORQUE the clogging indicator (1) to between 14.7 and 12.5 m.N (130.09 and 110.62 lbf.in )
T.
   (12) Safety the clogging indicator (1) to the filter head (5) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
   (1) Pressurize the brake accumulator (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-002).
   (2) Do the operational check of the alternate braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
   (3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the hydraulic brake filter 2862GM. Leaks are not permitted.
