A. Safety Precautions

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system to the minimum pressure (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
Subtask 32-31-00-867-063-A (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system to the minimum pressure (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
D. Retraction of the Applicable Landing Gear
(a) Open the applicable MLG door that is to stay open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(b) Install the safety devices on the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(c) Remove the hub cap on the applicable inboard wheel.
(d) Remove the brake fan assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-000-005).
(e) Install the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK on the applicable axle.
(f) Remove the safety devices from the applicable MLG.
(g) On the panel 400VU:
(i) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in position.
(j) Make sure that the uplock pin engages in the MLG uplock jaw.
(k) Install the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN or the 98DNSA20208150 RIGGING PIN in the MLG uplock.
Subtask 32-31-00-860-092-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.
(1) Retract the applicable MLG and keep the opposite MLG extended and the door open: (a) Open the applicable MLG door that is to stay open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(b) Install the safety devices on the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(c) Remove the hub cap on the applicable inboard wheel.
(d) Remove the brake fan assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-000-005).
(e) Install the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK on the applicable axle.
(f) Remove the safety devices from the applicable MLG.
(g) On the panel 400VU:
- Put the landing-gear control lever 6GA in the UP position.
- Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(i) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in position.
(j) Make sure that the uplock pin engages in the MLG uplock jaw.
(k) Install the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN or the 98DNSA20208150 RIGGING PIN in the MLG uplock.
E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 32-31-00-010-075-A (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
F. Get Access
(1) Put the access platform below the applicable gear bay, zone 734(744) of the extended MLG.
(2) Get access through the gear bay of the extended MLG to measure dimension W.
(3) Remove the applicable upper-wing fillet fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001) to measure dimensions A and B.
4. Procedure(1) Put the access platform below the applicable gear bay, zone 734(744) of the extended MLG.
(2) Get access through the gear bay of the extended MLG to measure dimension W.
(3) Remove the applicable upper-wing fillet fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001) to measure dimensions A and B.

A. MLG Clearance Check
(1) Measure dimension W.
(a) Put the gage bar (98D32104018040) against the top of the applicable MLG bay.
(b) Move the gage on the SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK until it touches the gage bar.
(c) Record dimension W.
(2) Remove the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK from the applicable axle.
(3) Compare the dimension with the value shown in Table A.
(4) If the dimension is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
(5) Measure dimensions A and B. If one of the two dimensions are incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
Subtask 32-31-00-820-060-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure dimension W.
(a) Put the gage bar (98D32104018040) against the top of the applicable MLG bay.
(b) Move the gage on the SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK until it touches the gage bar.
(c) Record dimension W.
(2) Remove the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK from the applicable axle.
(3) Compare the dimension with the value shown in Table A.
(4) If the dimension is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
(5) Measure dimensions A and B. If one of the two dimensions are incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
A. MLG Clearance Check
(1) Measure dimension W.
(a) Put the gage bar assy (98D32104018040) against the top of the applicable MLG bay.
(b) Move the gage on the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK until it touches the gage bar assy (98D32104018040).
(c) Record dimension W.
(2) Remove the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK from the applicable axle.
(3) Compare dimension W with the value shown in Table A.
(4) If dimension W is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
(5) Use the GAGE - DEPTH and measure dimension B. If dimension B is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
5. Close-up(1) Measure dimension W.
(a) Put the gage bar assy (98D32104018040) against the top of the applicable MLG bay.
(b) Move the gage on the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK until it touches the gage bar assy (98D32104018040).
(c) Record dimension W.
(2) Remove the 98D32104018000 SETTING TOOL-UPLOCK from the applicable axle.
(3) Compare dimension W with the value shown in Table A.
(4) If dimension W is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
(5) Use the GAGE - DEPTH and measure dimension B. If dimension B is incorrect, do the applicable adjustments (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-820-003).
Subtask 32-31-00-860-093-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
(2) Remove the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN or the 98DNSA20208150 RIGGING PIN from the MLG uplock.
(3) On panel 11VU, remove the WEDGE - NON METALLIC from the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle.
Subtask 32-31-00-867-064-A (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
(2) Remove the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN or the 98DNSA20208150 RIGGING PIN from the MLG uplock.
(3) On panel 11VU, remove the WEDGE - NON METALLIC from the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle.
B. Extension of the Landing Gear
(a) Put the landing-gear control lever to the DOWN position.
(b) Make sure that the landing-gear locked-down lights are Green.
(2) Install the safety devices on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
Subtask 32-31-00-860-094-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.
(1) On the panel 400VU: (a) Put the landing-gear control lever to the DOWN position.
(b) Make sure that the landing-gear locked-down lights are Green.
(2) Install the safety devices on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Install the brake fan assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-400-005).
(2) Install the hub cap on the applicable inboard wheel.
(3) Remove the safety device from the applicable MLG door.
(4) Close the applicable MLG door with the ground opening handle (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(5) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 32-31-00-410-069-A (1) Install the brake fan assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-48-51-400-005).
(2) Install the hub cap on the applicable inboard wheel.
(3) Remove the safety device from the applicable MLG door.
(4) Close the applicable MLG door with the ground opening handle (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(5) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
D. Close Access
(1) Install the upper-wing fillet fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
