A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the CHOCK - WHEEL(S) in position.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (4) In the cockpit, on panel 400VU:
     (a) Make sure that the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear control lever.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
A. Removal of the Fan assembly
F Fan Assy ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Release the tab-washers (14).
   (2) Remove the screws (13).
   (3) Remove and discard the tab-washers (14).
   (4) Remove the guard assembly (15) along the centerline of the axle so that you do not cause damage to the splines (7).
   (5) Remove the impeller (18) as follows:
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (16).
     (b) Hold the impeller (18) with the MG174-04 DISASSEMBLY TOOL and remove the nut (16) and the washer (17).
     (c) Remove the impeller (18).
   (6) Remove the shroud (19).
   (7) Remove the nut (22) and the collar (23).
   (8) Remove the joint (20).
   (9) Remove the cotter pins (11) and the nuts (10) and discard them.
   (10) Remove the washers (9) and the bolts (8).
   (11) Remove the motor assembly (6) as follows:
     (a) When you remove the motor assembly (6), do not cause damage to the electrical cables.
     (b) Do not apply pressure against the rotating components of the tachometer (5).
   (12) Disconnect the connector (45) motor assembly (6) as follows:
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (46).
     (b) Loosen the nut (46) and disconnect the connector (45) from the slot of the stirrup connector (47).
     (c) Make sure that the CAP - BLANKING is installed on the connector (45).
   (13) Disconnect the connector (1) from the tachometer (5).
   (14) Remove the screws (4).
   (15) Disengage the plate (2) with the connector (3) to disconnect the electrical connector (3).
   (16) Remove the circlip (39), washer (40) and spring (38).
NOTE: The cable kit from harness 2M contains the circlips (37) and (39), the spring (38) and the washer (40).
   (17) Remove the circlip (37).
   (18) Remove the motor assembly (6).
   (19) Remove the nut (35) and disconnect the connector (36) from the housing (12).
   (20) Remove the screws (33), the washers (34) and the housing (12).
   (21) Remove the screws (31) and the washers (30).
   (22) Remove the tachometer (5) with the drive shaft (7) from the motor (32).
   (23) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
