Procedure for FDIMU Software loading and preparation of PCMCIA cards for ADC/ FOMAX
NOTE: The CARD2 capacity must be no more than 2GB.
NOTE: It is not permitted to format CARD2 when the stored ACMS data is being retrieved.
NOTE: It is no permitted to change the content of CARD2. If any modification occurs, the CARD2 must be formatted according to the procedure described in this task.
NOTE: The full data-loading sequence must be done if a different card than CARD2 is inserted in the FDIMU.
NOTE: The CARD2 must be prepared according to the AGS allocation. The allocation defined in the ADC Configuration File B will be discarded.
NOTE: If you insert the unprepared CARD2 after data loading of software 10TVSW9, the CARD2 will be rejected by the FDIMU (PCMCIA led will be red).
NOTE: You can also load the FDIMU software with PDL (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-710-806).

NOTE: The AIDS software load procedure can erase the data of the engine and APU hours and cycles in the FDIMU storage. The printout gives a hard copy of this data, for correction, if data gets erased.
All modifications previously done through MCDU programming menu can be lost after the software loading. Reports counters are also reinitialized.

Removal / Installation of the Personal Computer Memory Card (PCMCIA) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PCMCIA CARD IS CORRECTLY ALIGNED BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT IN THE RELATED SLOT. ALSO DO NOT USE FORCE TO INSTALL IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(1) Insert the PCMCIA-CARD CARD1 with software 10TVSW2 (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-001).NOTE: For a correct load of the operational software, the System Software file(s) must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
NOTE: The software load starts only if the software on the PCMCIA-CARD is different from the software preloaded on the FDIMU.
NOTE: The bottom LED flashes green during the loading process of the software.
NOTE: If the loading process is correct, the bottom LED will stay green for approximately 2 seconds and then goes off. If the loading process is not correct, the bottom LED will stay red for approximately 2 seconds and then goes off.
The BITE status LEDs (upper and middle) can stay on during the loading process of the software. This does not indicate a failure.
The BITE status LEDs (upper and middle) can stay on during the loading process of the software. This does not indicate a failure.
NOTE: If you are installing FDIMU software 10TVSW8 and 10TVSW9 be advised these are small installation files and quickly load on the system. Once the loading is finished, the FDIMU starts preparing the card for data recording (within 2 seconds). In this case, the FDIMU bottom light turns red. If the above steps has been observed and the software PNs are correct in MCDU, the software has been correctly loaded and the card can be removed.
