(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, push the FUEL pushbutton switch.
     (a) On the lower ECAM DU the FUEL page comes into view.
   (5) On the lower ECAM DU, make sure there is 300 +100 kg or -0 kg (661.3866 +220.4622 lb or +0.0000 lb) fuel in each installed ACT.
   (6) On the lower ECAM DU, make sure that the fuel quantity:
  • of the center tank is 3300 +100 kg or -100 kg (7275.2526 +220.4622 lb or -220.4622 lb).
  • of the wing tanks on each side is 1400 +100 kg or -100 kg (3086.4708 +220.4622 lb or -220.4622 lb).
NOTE: A fuel failure message can come into view on ECAM display, if the necessary fuel quantity in the Wing Tanks and in the Center Tank is too much out of the necessary limits for the test.
   (7) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (8) Do the High Level Sensing Test (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-710-001).
   (9) On refuel/defuel control panel 800/801VU, make sure that the door is closed.

   (1) In the aft cargo-compartment, remove the access panel from ceiling panel 151BC, to get access to the test ports of the ACT pressurization system (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
   (2) Connect an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY pressure maximum to test port T1.
   (3) Connect a GAGE 5 BAR (75 PSI) - PRESSURE maximum to test port T2.
NOTE: You can use a pressure gauge of the smaller scale with the steps of 0.01 bar (0.1 psi).
NOTE: You can use the 98D28108658000 TOOL-PRESSURE TEST,ACT as an alternative tool and connect it to the T1 and T2 test ports.
   (4) Fully retract the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
   (5) Do the flight-configuration precaution procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

WARNING: WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
  • USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
  • DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS.
LOOSE PARTICLES AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY.
B. Test
NOTE: The fuel transfer rate must be between approximately 30 l/min and 100 l/min, with an ACT pressurization of 220 mbar (3.19 psi) and an aircraft pitch of 2 degrees.
The highest fuel transfer rate, with a maximum positive gravity head, is calculated from these parameters:
  • A temperature of approximately 40 deg. C,
  • ACT(s) full 2992 l (790.3963 USgal),
  • Center tank almost empty.
The lowest fuel transfer rate, with a minimum positive gravity head, is calculated from these parameters:
  • A temperature of approximately - 40 deg. C,
  • ACT(s) almost empty,
  • Center tank full 8250 l (2179.4017 USgal).
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the Ground Pressure Generator (GPG):
  • make sure that the air shut-off valves of the GPG are closed,
  • start the air supply with 1 bar (14.50 psi) at the test connector T1.
NOTE: The pressurization of the ACT bladder tank forces air out of the drain mast.

2.Do the Simulation of Flight with False Targets, with the Aircraft on the Ground (Ref. AMM TASK 32-69-00-860-802).
NOTE: Let the aircraft in simulated flight mode during the test of the automatic fuel transfer.

3.In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel:
  • push the FUEL pushbutton switch.
In the cockpit, on the ECAM DU:
  • the fuel page comes into view,
  • after approximately 10 minutes, the green triangle indication on the fuel page comes into view.

On the pressure gauge at the test connector T2:
  • the air pressure increases up to 0.25 bar (3.626 psi).
NOTE: If the pressure on T2 connector is more than 0.25 bar (3.626 psi), stop the air supply immediately.

In the cockpit, on the ECAM DU fuel page:
  • after some minutes, the fuel quantity in the ACT decreases and the fuel quantity in the center tank increases.
4.Stop the Simulation of Flight with False Targets, with the Aircraft on the Ground, to make sure that the aircraft goes back to ground mode (Ref. AMM TASK 32-69-00-860-802).
In the cockpit, on the ECAM DU fuel page:
  • the fuel transfer from the ACT to the center tank stops,
  • the green triangle indication goes out of view.
5.On the GPG:
  • stop the air supply at the test connector T1,
  • open the air shut-off valves of the GPG.
On the pressure gauge at the test connectors T1 and T2:
  • the pressure decreases down to 0 bar (0 psi).
5. Close-up
