Installation of the No. 1 Slat

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable zone 510(610).
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(5) Make sure that the slat track closing plates (9) and (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) are removed.
(6) Make sure that the applicable torque shaft has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-45-000-004).
(7) Make sure that the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) is installed on the applicable bevel gearbox.
(8) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
Subtask 27-84-63-860-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable zone 510(610).
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
- For the left wing, panel 522NB
- For the right wing, panel 622NB.
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(5) Make sure that the slat track closing plates (9) and (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) are removed.
(6) Make sure that the applicable torque shaft has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-45-000-004).
(7) Make sure that the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) is installed on the applicable bevel gearbox.
(8) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable zone 510(610):
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(5) For the No. 1 slat track:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(6) For the No. 2 slat track:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(7) For the No. 3 and 4 slat tracks:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(8) Make sure that the applicable torque shaft has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-45-000-004).
(9) Make sure that the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) is installed on the applicable bevel gearbox.
(10) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable zone 510(610):
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
- For the left wing, panel 522NB
- For the right wing, panel 622NB.
(4) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(5) For the No. 1 slat track:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(6) For the No. 2 slat track:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(7) For the No. 3 and 4 slat tracks:
(a) Make sure that the slat track closing plate (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-000-001) is removed.
(8) Make sure that the applicable torque shaft has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-45-000-004).
(9) Make sure that the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) is installed on the applicable bevel gearbox.
(10) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
Subtask 27-84-63-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(2) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(3) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (51) and (54).
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Install the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-400-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(6) Loosen the bolts (51) and (54) and push the seals (52) and (55) into the slat to the limit of their adjustment.
(8) At the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks remove:
Subtask 27-84-63-420-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) . (2) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(3) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (51) and (54).
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Install the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-400-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(6) Loosen the bolts (51) and (54) and push the seals (52) and (55) into the slat to the limit of their adjustment.
NOTE: This will give a clearance between the seals (52) and (55) and the wing structure during the slat rigging procedure.
(7) Tighten the bolts (51) and (54) with your hand. (8) At the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks remove:
- The nuts (14) and (40)
- The locking plates (13) and (38).
B. Installation of the No. 1 Slat
(1) Lift the slat into position.
(2) At the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks:
(a) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(b) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess of the bolts (16), (17), (19) and (41).
(c) Install the bush (34) and attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
.
(e) TORQUE the nuts (31) and (32) to between 7.6 and 2.0 m.daN (56.05 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
.
(f) Make sure that the head of the bolt shoulder (39), the lower surface of the nut (32) and the washer (33) are in contact with the surface of the track rib, the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34).
(g) Measure the dimension L and make sure this dimension is less than 0.08 mm (0.0031 in.).
(i) Do not torque or safety the nuts (19) and (42).
(3) Remove the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-000-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(4) You must adjust the upper trailing-edge of the slat to its maximum height, related to the fixed leading-edge. To adjust the height, turn the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks.
Subtask 27-84-63-820-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Lift the slat into position.
(2) At the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks:
(a) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(b) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess of the bolts (16), (17), (19) and (41).
(c) Install the bush (34) and attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
- The bolts (16), (17), (39) and (41)
- The washers (3), (7), (30) and (33)
- The nuts (4), (6), (31) and (32).
NOTE: If necessary, turn the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) to help install the bolts (16), (17), (39) and (41).
(d) TORQUE the nuts (4), (6), (18) and (20) to between 4.8 and 2.0 m.daN (35.40 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (e) TORQUE the nuts (31) and (32) to between 7.6 and 2.0 m.daN (56.05 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (f) Make sure that the head of the bolt shoulder (39), the lower surface of the nut (32) and the washer (33) are in contact with the surface of the track rib, the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34).
(g) Measure the dimension L and make sure this dimension is less than 0.08 mm (0.0031 in.).
NOTE: Make sure that you measure the correct dimension L between the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34). Do not measure between the washer (33) and the shouldered bush (35).
(h) Safety the nuts (4), (6), (18), (20), (31) and (32) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-01-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 1 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-02-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 2 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-03-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 3 slat track and AIPC 27-84-61-04-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 4 slat track. (i) Do not torque or safety the nuts (19) and (42).
(3) Remove the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-000-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(4) You must adjust the upper trailing-edge of the slat to its maximum height, related to the fixed leading-edge. To adjust the height, turn the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks.
C. Adjustment of the Slat
(1) Install the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING at the No. 9 slat track.
(2) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(3) Use the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to retract the slats until they are approximately 50.8 mm (2.000 in.) +/- 6.35 mm (0.250 in.) from the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING.
(4) Use the 98D27804011000 BAR-TURNING to slowly retract the slats until the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING touches the bottom roller at the No. 9 slat track.
(5) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(6) Adjust the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks to get dimension J. Refer to the table that follows.
(7) Install the locking plates (13) and (38) and the nuts (14) and (40).
(8) TORQUE the nuts (19) and (42) to between 4.8 and 2.0 m.daN (35.40 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Safety the nuts (19) and (42) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-01-010 COTTER PINS (5), at the No. 1 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-02-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 2 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-03-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 3 slat track and AIPC 27-84-61-04-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 4 slat track.
(10) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(11) Extend the slats.
(12) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(13) Apply special materials:
(15) Install and adjust the closing plates (9) and (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-400-001).
Subtask 27-84-63-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING at the No. 9 slat track.
(2) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(3) Use the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to retract the slats until they are approximately 50.8 mm (2.000 in.) +/- 6.35 mm (0.250 in.) from the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING.
(4) Use the 98D27804011000 BAR-TURNING to slowly retract the slats until the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING touches the bottom roller at the No. 9 slat track.
(5) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(6) Adjust the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks to get dimension J. Refer to the table that follows.
NOTE: Measure dimension J above the applicable slat track.

(9) Safety the nuts (19) and (42) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-01-010 COTTER PINS (5), at the No. 1 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-02-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 2 slat track, AIPC 27-84-61-03-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 3 slat track and AIPC 27-84-61-04-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 4 slat track.
(10) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(11) Extend the slats.
WARNING:

(a) Use the WRENCH - PNEUMATIC and the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to fully extend the slats. (12) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(13) Apply special materials:

(a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) to: - The nuts (4), (6), (18), (19), (20), (31), (32) and (42)
- The bolt heads (11), (12), (15), (16), (17) and (37)
- The locking plates (13) and (38).
(15) Install and adjust the closing plates (9) and (35) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-69-400-001).
D. Preparation for Installation
(2) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(3) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (51) and (54).
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Install the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-400-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(6) Loosen the bolts (51) and (54) and push the seals (52) and (55) into the slat to the limit of their adjustment.
(8) At the No. 1 slat track remove:

(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) . (2) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(3) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (51) and (54).
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Install the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-400-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(6) Loosen the bolts (51) and (54) and push the seals (52) and (55) into the slat to the limit of their adjustment.
NOTE: This will give a clearance between the seals (52) and (55) and the wing structure during the slat rigging procedure.
(7) Tighten the bolts (51) and (54) with your hand. (8) At the No. 1 slat track remove:
- The nut (14)
- The locking plate (13).
- The nut (13)
- The locking plate (12).
- The nut (40)
- The locking plate (38).
E. Installation of the No. 1 Slat
(1) Lift the slat into position.
(2) At the No. 1 slat track:
(a) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(b) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (16) and (17).
(c) Attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
.
(e) Safety the nuts (4), (6), (18) and (20) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-01-010 COTTER PINS (5).
(f) Do not torque or safety the nut (19).
(3) At the No. 2 slat track:
(a) Attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
.
(c) Safety the nuts (3), (5), (17) and (19) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-02-010 COTTER PINS (4).
(d) Do not torque or safety the nut (18).
(4) At the No. 3 and 4 slat tracks:

(c) Make sure that the head of the bolt shoulder (39), the lower surface of the nut (32) and the washer (33) are in contact with the surface of the track rib, the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34).
(d) Measure the dimension L and make sure this dimension is less than 0.08 mm (0.0031 in.).
(f) Do not torque or safety the nut (42).
(5) Remove the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-000-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.
(6) You must adjust the upper trailing-edge of the slat to its maximum height, related to the fixed leading-edge. To adjust the height, turn the eccentric bushes (9), (10) and (36) at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 slat tracks.
Subtask 27-84-63-820-055-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Lift the slat into position.
(2) At the No. 1 slat track:
(a) Clean the recess area of bolts using solvent and air dry.
(b) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the recess area of the bolts (16) and (17).
(c) Attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
- The bolts (16) and (17)

(d) TORQUE the nuts (4), (6), (18) and (20) to between 4.8 and 2.0 m.daN (35.40 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (e) Safety the nuts (4), (6), (18) and (20) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-01-010 COTTER PINS (5).
(f) Do not torque or safety the nut (19).
(3) At the No. 2 slat track:
(a) Attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with:
- The bolts (15) and (16)
- The washers (2) and (6)
- The nuts (3) and (5).
NOTE: If necessary, turn the eccentric bushes (9) to help install the bolts (15) and (16).
(b) TORQUE the nuts (3), (5), (17) and (19) to between 4.8 and 2.0 m.daN (35.40 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (c) Safety the nuts (3), (5), (17) and (19) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-02-010 COTTER PINS (4).
(d) Do not torque or safety the nut (18).
(4) At the No. 3 and 4 slat tracks:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE APPLICABLE TYPE OF SLAT TRACK LINKS IS INSTALLED (ON TRACKS 1 AND 2) WHEN YOU REPLACE THE SLAT.
(a) Install the bush (34) and attach the slat to the slat tracks and the slat tracks links with: - The bolts (39) and (41)
- The washers (30) and (33)
- The nuts (31) and (32).
NOTE: If necessary, turn the eccentric bushes (36) to help install the bolts (39) and (41).
(b) TORQUE the nuts (31) and (32) to between 7.6 and 2.0 m.daN (56.05 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (c) Make sure that the head of the bolt shoulder (39), the lower surface of the nut (32) and the washer (33) are in contact with the surface of the track rib, the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34).
(d) Measure the dimension L and make sure this dimension is less than 0.08 mm (0.0031 in.).
NOTE: Make sure that you measure the correct dimension L between the washer (33) and the sliding bush (34). Do not measure between the washer (33) and the shouldered bush (35).
(e) Safety the nuts (31) and (32) with the new AIPC 27-84-61-03-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the No. 3 slat track and AIPC 27-84-61-04-010 COTTER PINS (5) at the N0. 4 slat track. (f) Do not torque or safety the nut (42).
(5) Remove the 98D27804009001 SLATS - SLING (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-000-001) or the 98F27508498000 HOIST-R I,FLAP SLAT.

(c) Use the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to retract the slats until they are approximately 50.8 mm (2.000 in.) +/- 6.35 mm (0.250 in.) from the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING.
(d) Use the 98D27804011000 BAR-TURNING to slowly retract the slats until the 98D27804020001 BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING touches the bottom roller at the No. 9 slat track.
(e) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
1 Adjust the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) to get dimension J. Refer to the table that follows.
2 Install the locking plates (13) and (38) and the nuts (14) and (40).
3 TORQUE the nuts (19) and (42) to between 4.8 and 2.0 m.daN (35.40 and 14.75 lbf.ft )

(3) While the sealant is still wet, install the seals (52) and (55) and the support assemblies (53) and (56) with the screws (51) and (54) and the washers (53). Tighten the screws (51) and (54) by hand.
(4) Adjust the seal (52) to touch the wing root over its full length.
(5) Adjust the seal (55) until the Dim S is 2 mm (0.0787 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) over its full length.
(6) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(7) Use the pneumatic wrench and the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to slowly manually retract the slats to the zero position.
(8) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(9) Make sure that the seal (52) touches the wing root over its full length.
(10) Make sure that there is still a clearance between the seal (55) and the pylon structure over its full length.
(11) If the position of the seal(s) (52) and/or (55) is not correct, do the adjustment procedure again.
(12) When the adjustment is correct, remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003). [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(13) Extend the slats:

(1) Use the pneumatic wrench and the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to manually retract the slats to the zero position. (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Do the readout and check of the PPU data (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-860-801).
(4) If the PPU data are not in the limits:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Use the WRENCH - PNEUMATIC and 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to move the slat drive shaft until the PPU data shows the specified values. (b) After the correct adjustment: Make sure that the slat transmission system in the fully retracted position.
(5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
J. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) and the WRENCH - PNEUMATIC from the slat drive shaft.
(3) Remove the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-000-003): [6010CM] or [6060CM]
(4) Install the applicable torque shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-45-400-005):
(5) Install the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-400-006):
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 27-84-63-710-051-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the 98D27804001000 ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) and the WRENCH - PNEUMATIC from the slat drive shaft.
