A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-11-30-010-072-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser (T/R) System for Maintenance
Subtask 73-11-30-010-073-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

Subtask 73-11-30-820-050-A A. General
(a) When you install the fuel nozzles (14) and components installed on the combustion case (6), be prepared to replace damaged inserts.
(b) (c) Do not push the fuel nozzle (14) into the combustion chamber with too much force. Too much force will cause damage to the swirl cup or the fuel nozzle tip.
Subtask 73-11-30-420-073-A WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE NIPPLE FITTING. USE THE OTHER WRENCH TO TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. IF THE NIPPLE FITTING TURNS, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Remove COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all open ports, open tubes, open hoses and connectors: (a) When you install the fuel nozzles (14) and components installed on the combustion case (6), be prepared to replace damaged inserts.
(b) (c) Do not push the fuel nozzle (14) into the combustion chamber with too much force. Too much force will cause damage to the swirl cup or the fuel nozzle tip.
B. Installation of Fuel Nozzles
(2) Prepare all the 76 fuel nozzle bolts (bolts) (85) with lubricantCP2961 tiodize grease T8E-H grease/anti-seize with BRUSH - ACID.
(4) Make a record of the fuel nozzle position with the related fuel nozzle serial number and part number.
(5) Do a general visual inspection of the fuel nozzles (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-30-210-801).

Subtask 73-11-30-420-074-A NOTE: The fuel nozzles (14) are given position numbers in the Clockwise (CW) sequence when you look at them from the aft of the engine. Position 1 is at 12:30 o’clock.
(1) Use new fuel nozzle EIPC 73-00-00-15-220A BOLTS (85) for the fuel nozzles (14). (2) Prepare all the 76 fuel nozzle bolts (bolts) (85) with lubricant
NOTE: The CP2961 tiodize grease T8E-H grease/anti-seize will greatly reduce fallout of broken bolts and inserts in the future fuel nozzle maintenance.
(3) Put all the 19 clean fuel nozzles (14) procured from Advanced Atomization Technologies L.L.C. on a bench and mark the fuel nozzles (14) No. 1 through No. 19. (4) Make a record of the fuel nozzle position with the related fuel nozzle serial number and part number.
(5) Do a general visual inspection of the fuel nozzles (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-30-210-801).

CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL A NEW FUEL NOZZLE SEAL ASSEMBLY EACH TIME YOU INSTALL A FUEL NOZZLE. THIS WILL PREVENT HOT AIR LEAK AND HIGH TEMPERATURE BELOW THE COWLING. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
(7) (a) Turn the fuel nozzle seal assembly (132) until the bolt holes line up.NOTE: You can only turn the fuel nozzle seal assembly (132) one way to line up the bolt holes. The bolt holes will not line up any other way.
(b) Matchmark the fuel nozzle seal assembly (132) and orientation to the fuel nozzle (14).NOTE: Matchmarks are a visual aid to align the fuel nozzles (14) and gaskets easily during the assembly process.
(8) Remove all CAP - BLANKING and COVER - BLANKING from the engine case and the fuel nozzles (14) that you install. CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH FORCE ON THE SWIRL CUP OR FUEL NOZZLE TIP. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
(9) Put the 19 fuel nozzles (14) in position. Before you install one of the bolts (85), install the fuel nozzles (14) as follows: NOTE: The same technicians who removed external hardware and fuel nozzles (14) must be the ones that reinstall the hardware. This will reduce errors in installation.
NOTE: The Left Hand (LH) side and Right Hand (RH) side of the engine can be worked at the same time. The technicians must be synchronized on the adjacent fuel nozzle installation sequences.
NOTE: The left, right and bottom sides of engine can be worked in parallel as halves or thirds (dependent on manpower).
NOTE: The installation sequence is only for reference and can be changed as necessary, such a down-top installation sequence.
NOTE: The technicians must be synchronized on the intersection of the fuel nozzle installation paths.
(a) 1 Half 1, RH side, aft looking forward includes fuel nozzles (14) No. 9, No. 8, No. 6, No. 7, No. 5, No. 4, No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 installed from the 1:00 to 5:00 o’clock positions and do as follows: - Fuel nozzle No. 9 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 8 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 6 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 7 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 5 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 4 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 1 - turn LEFT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 2 - turn LEFT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 3 - turn LEFT and into the case.
2 Half 2, LH side, aft looking forward includes fuel nozzles (14) No. 14, No. 12, No. 11, No. 13, No. 10, No. 16, No. 15, No. 18, No. 19 and No. 17 installed from the 6:00 to 12:00 o’clock positions and do as follows:

- Fuel nozzle No. 11 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 13 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 10 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 16 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 15 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 18 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 19 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 17 - turn RIGHT and into the case.

- Fuel nozzle No. 19 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 17 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
2 Third 2, RH side, aft looking forward includes fuel nozzles (14) No. 5, No. 4, No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 installed from the 1:00 to 3:00 o’clock positions and do as follows:
- Fuel nozzle No. 5 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 4 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 1 - turn LEFT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 2 - turn LEFT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 3 - turn LEFT and into the case.
3 Third 3, LH side and RH side, aft looking forward includes fuel nozzles (14) No. 14, No. 12, No. 11, No. 13, No. 10, No. 9, No. 8, No. 6 and No. 7 installed from the 3:00 to 9:00 o’clock positions and do as follows:
- Fuel nozzle No. 14 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 12 - turn RIGHT and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 11 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 13 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 10 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 9 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 8 - turn DOWN and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 6 - turn UP and into the case.
- Fuel nozzle No. 7 - turn DOWN and into the case.

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL NOZZLE FITTINGS ARE CORRECTLY ENGAGED AND FULLY INSTALLED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE NOZZLES CAN BE INCORRECTLY ALIGNED AND THE BOLTS CAN CROSS-THREAD. THUS, YOU CAN GET AN INCORRECT TORQUE VALUE AND FUEL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY LUBRICANT ON THE FUEL NOZZLE OR B-NUT THREADS. IF YOU APPLY LUBRICANT TO THE THREADS, IT WILL BE MORE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE JOINT. THUS, THIS WILL HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE MAINTAINABILITY/REUSABILITY. ALSO, OIL CAN COKE DURING ENGINE SOAK BACK, AND BECOME FOREIGN MATERIAL AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE THREADS.
(11) NOTE: This helps the fuel manifold correctly center on the fuel nozzle fittings.
C. Torque Pattern of the Fuel Nozzle Bolts
(1) TORQUE the bolts (85) to between 103 and 87 lbf.in (1.16 and 0.98 m.daN )
. Start at the close-fitting bolt hole (No. 1) followed by the elongated bolt hole (No. 2) and then the remaining two bolt holes (No. 3 and No. 4).
. Start at the close-fitting bolt hole (No. 1) followed by the elongated bolt hole (No. 2) and then the remaining two bolt holes (No. 3 and No. 4).
CP2961 tiodize grease T8E-H grease/anti-seize .
(4) Put a verification mark line across the bolts (85) and fuel nozzle base with a temporary marking (Material No.CP5061) .
Subtask 73-11-30-420-075-A (1) TORQUE the bolts (85) to between 103 and 87 lbf.in (1.16 and 0.98 m.daN )
. Start at the close-fitting bolt hole (No. 1) followed by the elongated bolt hole (No. 2) and then the remaining two bolt holes (No. 3 and No. 4).CAUTION:
IF YOU MUST LOOSEN THREE OR MORE BOLTS OF AN ADJACENT FUEL NOZZLE FOR ACCESS, REPLACE THE FUEL NOZZLE SEAL ASSEMBLY. IT CAN BE NECESSARY TO LOOSEN AND REMOVE AN ADJACENT FUEL NOZZLE TO LET YOU TURN THE FUEL NOZZLE INTO THE COMBUSTION CASE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, FUEL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR.
(2) TORQUE the bolts (85) again to between 151 and 129 lbf.in (1.71 and 1.46 m.daN )
. Start at the close-fitting bolt hole (No. 1) followed by the elongated bolt hole (No. 2) and then the remaining two bolt holes (No. 3 and No. 4). NOTE: One of the four fuel nozzle (14) bolt holes is elongated.
NOTE: It can be helpful to tag hardware with the correct torque between shifts, but a correct shift turnover plan with your quality assurance program must be started.
(3) (a) If the bolts (85) are found unseated or suspected to be unseated, remove the bolts (85) and install the new EIPC 73-00-00-15-220A BOLTS (85) with excess (4) Put a verification mark line across the bolts (85) and fuel nozzle base with a temporary marking (Material No.CP5061) .
D. Torque the Fuel Nozzle B-nuts
1 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
.
2 Loosen the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) until you can turn them with your fingers.
3 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) again to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
.
4 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) a third time to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
.
5 Put a mark across the fuel manifold B-nut (131) and the fuel nozzle (14) fitting with a temporary marking (Material No.CP5061) to show that the fuel manifold B-nut (131) has been torqued.
6 (b) Do an inspection as follows:
1 Have an inspector different from the one who torqued the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) in Para. 4.D.(1) (a) to do the inspection.
, sequentially around in a CW direction, aft looking forward. On each fuel nozzle (14), torque the pilot secondary B-nut first, followed by the pilot primary main B-nut.

Subtask 73-11-30-420-076-A CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU APPLY TORQUE TO THE B-NUTS, MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL NOZZLE FITTINGS ARE CORRECTLY ENGAGED AND FULLY INSTALLED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE PARTS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
IN THE AREAS WHERE ACCESS IS NOT EASY AND NO VISUAL/AUDIBLE CONFIRMATION IS POSSIBLE, MAKE SURE THAT THE WRENCH/ATTACHMENT/EXTENSION DOES NOT TOUCH OTHER HARDWARE DURING TORQUE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN APPLY AN INCORRECT TORQUE.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TORQUE VALUES OF THE FUEL NOZZLE B-NUTS ARE CORRECT AND HAVE POSITIVE SAFETY CABLE RETENTION, SPECIALLY AT THE 12:00 O'CLOCK POSITION. INCORRECT TORQUE OF THE FUEL NOZZLE B-NUTS CAN HAVE IMPORTANT UNWANTED EFFECTS ON AIRCRAFT OPERATION (IN-FLIGHT SHUTDOWN, TAKE-OFF ABORT, AIR TURN BACK OR DIVERSION).
(1) Torque the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) as follows:NOTE: It is necessary to triple-torque fuel manifold B-nuts (131) in this sequence: torque-loosen-torque-torque.
NOTE: When an offset extension wrench such as a crowfoot extension is used with a torque wrench, the effective length of the torque wrench is changed. The torque wrench is so calibrated that when an extension wrench is used, the indicated torque, the value that appears on the scale or dial of the torque wrench, can be different from the actual torque that is applied to the fuel manifold B-nuts (131). Refer to the SPM 707011 .
NOTE: Dial wrenches must not be used. An adjustable click-type fixed ratchet torque wrench or a digital torque wrench with preset alerts you can hear or feel is necessary.
(a) Triple-torque all 38 fuel manifold B-nuts (131). Start with the lowest numbered fuel nozzle (14) No. 1 and do as follows: 1 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
. 2 Loosen the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) until you can turn them with your fingers.
3 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) again to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
. 4 TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) a third time to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
.5 Put a mark across the fuel manifold B-nut (131) and the fuel nozzle (14) fitting with a temporary marking (Material No.CP5061) to show that the fuel manifold B-nut (131) has been torqued.
6 (b) Do an inspection as follows:
1 Have an inspector different from the one who torqued the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) in Para. 4.D.(1) (a) to do the inspection.
NOTE: Do not break the torque of the fuel manifold B-nuts (131).
2 The inspector must start the check from the fuel nozzle (14) No. 1 and TORQUE the fuel manifold B-nuts (131) again to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
, sequentially around in a CW direction, aft looking forward. On each fuel nozzle (14), torque the pilot secondary B-nut first, followed by the pilot primary main B-nut. 3 (c)
NOTE: If safety wire is used, stop the wire at the fuel nozzle end.
E. Torquing of the Fuel Nozzle Brackets with Associated Hardware Attached
(1) If any bolt that attaches any clamp, retaining strap, tube, duct or other bracket was loose or removed to make the fuel nozzle bracket flexible, torque the bolt to the components as follows:

(b) Attach the turbine center frame accelerometer (18) to the electrical harnesses support bracket (133) on the fuel nozzle pad with a bolt (20) and the loop clamp (23).
