Installation of the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPT ACC) Valve

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 75-22-05-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 75-22-05-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPT ACC) Valve
   (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Install the bracket (19) to the LPT ACC valve (1) as follows:
     (a) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the threads of the two bolts (20).
     (b) Put the bracket (19) in position on the LPT ACC valve (1).
     (c) Install the two bolts (20) and two washers (27) that attach the bracket (19) to the LPT ACC valve (1) and hand-tighten the two bolts (20).
     (d) TORQUE the two bolts (20) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
   (3) Install the LPT ACC valve (1) with attached bracket (19) as follows:
     (a) Apply engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) on the threads of the two bolts (21), bolt (23) and the two bolts (25).
     (b) Put the LPT ACC valve (1) with attached bracket (19) in position on the bracket (18) and bracket (22).
     (c) Install the two bolts (25) and two washers (26) that attach bracket (19) to the bracket (18) and hand-tighten the two bolts (25).
     (d) Install the bolt (23) that attaches the bracket (19) to the bracket (24) and hand-tighten the bolt (23).
     (e) Install the two bolts (21) that attach the bracket (22) and bracket (18) to the LPT ACC valve (1) and hand-tighten the two bolts (21).
     (f) TORQUE the two bolts (25), one bolt (23) and the two bolts (21) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Connect the MTC-ACC fuel hydraulic manifold (15) to the LPT ACC valve (1) as follows:
     (a) Apply engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) to the threads of the four bolts (16).
     (b) Put a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-040 GASKET SEAL (14) between the LPT ACC valve (1) and the MTC-ACC fuel hydraulic manifold (15).
     (c) Install the four bolts (16) that attach the MTC-ACC fuel hydraulic manifold (15) to the LPT ACC valve (1).
     (d) TORQUE the four bolts (16) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
   (5) Connect the electrical connector (17) to the LPT ACC valve (1) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
   (6) Install the LPT ACC aft valve wye duct (7) as follows:
     (a) Put the LPT ACC aft valve wye duct (7) in position between the LPT ACC valve (1) and the air duct (3) and the air duct (6).
     (b) Install the hose clamp (5) that attaches the LPT ACC aft valve wye duct (7) to the air duct (6) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (5).
     (c) Install the hose clamp (4) that attaches the LPT ACC aft valve wye duct (7) to the air duct (3) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (4).
     (d) Install the hose clamp (2) that attaches the LPT ACC aft valve wye duct (7) to the LPT ACC valve (1) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (2).
     (e) TORQUE the hose clamp (5), hose clamp (4) and hose clamp (2) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Install the Active Clearance Control (ACC) wye duct (11) as follows:
     (a) Put the ACC wye duct (11) in position between the LPT ACC valve (1), the High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (HPT ACC) valve (13) and the ACC inlet duct (10).
     (b) Install the hose clamp (9) that attaches the ACC wye duct (11) to the ACC inlet duct (10) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (9).
     (c) Install the hose clamp (8) that attaches the ACC wye duct (11) to the LPT ACC valve (1) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (8).
     (d) Install the hose clamp (12) that attaches the ACC wye duct (11) to the HPT ACC valve (13) and hand-tighten the hose clamp (12).
     (e) TORQUE the hose clamp (9), hose clamp (8) and hose clamp (12) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
