Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser System after Ground Maintenance [CFML]

TASK 78-30-00-440-809-A
Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser System after Ground Maintenance

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
1. Reason for the Job
A. This task gives the instructions to unlock the right lower actuator. This actuator is also known as the synchronized manual locking actuator.
B. When the synchronized manual locking actuator is locked, it prevents operation of the translating cowl by a mechanical locking mechanism. Lock the synchronized manual locking actuator as a safety precaution before you do core engine maintenance to prevent accidental operation of the translating cowl.
C. This locking procedure is only done during engine maintenance with the transcowl fully stowed. When maintenance is complete, you must do the unlocking procedure. There is a different task to deactivate the thrust reverser on both engines for flight (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-808).
