TASK 72-00-00-210-813-A
General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Engine Inlet Area

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE OIL AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
ZONE: 400
1. Reason for the Job
Use this procedure to do a General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the engine inlet area with a white light. This inspection is for the fan rotor assembly, the inside of the fan case and the fan exit fairing (splitter area). If you see damage inside the inlet area, this procedure will reference you to a more Detailed Visual Inspection (DVI) for limits and dispositions. Do not use this inspection if you think that the engine had a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) event or birdstrike event. If you think the engine had these events, refer to task AMM 72-00-00-210-807.
