A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
   (3) Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put on and attach the HARNESS, SAFETY before you start work in the work area.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (3) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (4) Set light control switch 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure
WARNING: USE THE CORRECT PERSONAL PROTECTION. OIL CAN HAVE ADDITIVE CALLED TRICRESYL PHOSPHATE IN IT. THIS CHEMICAL IS AN ASPHYXIANT, IT IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED THROUGH THE SKIN. USE CARE WHEN ENGINE OIL IS DRAINED. HOT OIL CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE BAD BURNS.
CAUTION: DO NOT CLEAN THE OIL FILTER ELEMENTS. YOU MUST DISCARD THEM AND INSTALL NEW FILTER ELEMENTS. IF YOU CLEAN THE OIL FILTER ELEMENTS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
Subtask 49-91-41-020-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Oil Filter-Element
   (1) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the the oil-filter cap (2).
   (2) Release and hold the the oil-filter latch assembly (1) in the open position.
   (3) Remove the oil-filter cap (2).
NOTE: Let the remaining oil drain from the oil-filter ports in the gearbox into the container.
   (4) Remove the oil-filter element (4).
   (5) Inspect the oil-filter element (4) under a LIGHT SOURCE - WHITE for unwanted material.
NOTE: If you find unwanted material, continue as given in the inspection of the magnetic drain plug (Ref. AMM TASK 49-91-42-200-003).
   (6) Discard the oil-filter element (4).
   (7) Remove and discard the packing (3).

B. Installation of the Oil Filter-Element
   (1) If the delta P indicator has come out, push the indicator to set it again.
   (2) Make sure that the oil-filter cap (2) is in the correct condition.
   (3) Make sure that the latch assembly (1) is in the correct condition.
   (4) Apply the Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 49-91-04-50-160 PACKING (3) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-200 PACKING (3).
   (5) Install the new packing (3) on the oil-filter cap (2).
   (6) Install the new
AIPC 49-91-04-50-170 FILTER-ELEMENT (4) or AIPC 49-91-84-20-210 FILTER-ELEMENT (4).
   (7) Apply the Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.
03ABA1) or the Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) on the thread of the oil-filter cap (2).
   (8) Install the oil-filter cap (2).
   (9) TORQUE the oil-filter cap (2) to between 177 and 133 lbf.in (2.00 and 1.50 m.daN ) T.
   (10) Do a check of the oil level at the oil-sight glass and add oil if necessary (
Ref. AMM TASK 49-90-00-600-004).
   (11) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) and obey the local regulations when you discard the drained oil.
   (12) Remove the unwanted oil which fell on the APU and the adjacent area.

D. Leak Test
   (1) Start the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005) and operate it for 5 minutes.
   (2) Do the APU shutdown procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006).
   (3) Check the oil-filter cap (2) for leakage.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the safety harness.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
