4. Procedure
Subtask 52-41-00-010-052-A
A. Opening of the APU Access Doors
   (1) Open the APU access door 315AL (2) as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THREE QUICK RELEASE FASTENERS ON THE APU L ACCESS DOOR ARE CORRECTLY STOWED. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE SEAL ON THE APU L ACCESS DOOR.
     (a) Release the three quick-release fasteners (6) at the bottom of the doors.
     (b) Hold the door and release the two latches of the shoot bolts (1) at the two ends of the door.
     (c) Release the door (2) until it is in its vertical position.
     (d) Release the pip-pin (3) and pull the end of the telescopic strut (5) out until it locks.
     (e) Push the door more open and attach the telescopic strut (5) with the pip-pin (3) to the fuselage attach point.
   (2) Open the APU access door 316AR (9) as follows:
     (a) Release the two latches of the shoot bolts (10) at the ends of the APU access 316AR (9).
NOTE: The tension spring (7) usually holds the access door (9) in its closed position.
It is correct that the spring load can decrease after usual door operation. This can cause the access door (9) to move slowly down after the latches of the shoot bolts (10) are released.
     (b) Pull the handle (12) to move the access door (9) down to its vertical position.
     (c) Push the handle (12) outboard to move the access door (9) to its overcenter position.
NOTE: The spring (7) of the door mechanism holds the door in the fully open position.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-41-00-860-051-A

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform.
