3. Job Set-up
Subtask 49-12-54-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the panel 25VU make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
   (3) Make sure that the warning notices is on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (6) Make sure that the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001) or removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-000-001).
   (7) Make sure that the light switch 11LJ is set to the ON position.
   (8) Make sure that the 98A49107504001 PROTECTOR-THREADS,APU MOUNTING BOLTS are installed on the thread of the FWD and rear APU mounts.

4. Procedure
Subtask 49-12-54-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the APU Mount Brackets
   (1) Install the FWD left and the FWD right APU mount-brackets:
     (a) Carefully put the FWD APU mount bracket (17) in position on the vibration isolator and the APU. Make sure that the spigot is correctly engaged in the APU.
     (b) Attach the FWD APU mount-bracket (17) to the APU with the bolts (10).
     (c) TORQUE the bolts (10) to between 3.0 and 2.6 m.daN (22.12 and 19.17 lbf.ft ) T.
     (d) Remove the
98A49107504001 PROTECTOR-THREADS,APU MOUNTING BOLTS and install the FWD APU mount-nut (16).
     (e) TORQUE the FWD APU mount-nut (16) to between 3.1 and 2.5 m.daN (22.86 and 18.44 lbf.ft ) T.
     (f) Install the setscrew (15) in the FWD APU mount-bracket (17) and lock it in position with the nut (14).
     (g) Attach the bonding strap (13) to the setscrew (15) with the washer (12) and the nut (11) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (h) Safety the bolts (10) with 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (2) Install the rear APU mount-bracket:
     (a) Carefully put the rear APU mount bracket (31) in position on the APU.
     (b) Attach the rear APU mount-bracket (31) to the APU with the bolts (30).
     (c) TORQUE the bolts (30) to between 3.0 and 2.6 m.daN (22.12 and 19.17 lbf.ft ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (d) Safety the bolts (30) with 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
     (e) Put the rear vibration isolator (23) in position on the rear APU mount-bracket (31).
     (f) Remove the
98A49107504001 PROTECTOR-THREADS,APU MOUNTING BOLTS and install the rear APU mount-nut (29). Do not tighten the nut at this step of the procedure.
     (g) Connect the rear vibration isolator (23) to the tie-rods (28) and (22):
       1 Align the rear left tie-rod (28) with the rear vibration isolator (23) and insert the bolts (27).
       2 Install the washers (26) and the nuts (25) to the bolts (27).
       3 TORQUE the nuts (25) to between 0.35 and 0.3 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.in ) T.
       4 Safety the nuts (25) with the
AIPC 49-12-04-04-110 COTTER PIN (24) or AIPC 49-12-84-43-070 COTTER PIN (24).
       5 Align the rear right tie-rod (22) with the rear vibration isolator (23) and insert the bolt (21).
       6 Install the washer (20) and the nut (19) to the bolt (21).
       7 TORQUE the nut (19) to between 0.75 and 0.55 m.daN (66.37 and 48.67 lbf.in )
T.
       8 Safety the nut (19) with the
AIPC 49-12-04-04-100 COTTER PIN (18) or AIPC 49-12-84-43-060 COTTER PIN (18).
       9 Hold the rear vibration isolator (23) to prevent movement and TORQUE the rear APU mount nut (29) to between 8.5 and 7.7 m.daN (62.68 and 56.78 lbf.ft )

C. Apply a thin layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) to the rear vibration isolator (23).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the light switch 11LJ to off.
   (3) Close the APU access doors 316AR 315AL (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
