- THE LANDING GEAR AND RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic systems.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) On center pedestal panel 114VU:
(a) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
Subtask 36-11-48-865-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004). (2) On center pedestal panel 114VU:
(a) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panels.
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed:
(a) For the left wing:
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panels.
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed:
(a) For the left wing:
- 521AB, 521CB and 521EB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004)
- 521BB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-005)
- 521BT (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-009).
NOTE: During the installation of the ducts, the dimension X stays constant plus or minus 2.0 mm (0.08 in.). You can examine the dimension around the full circumference of the duct.
Subtask 36-11-48-420-097-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bleed air ducts and the anti ice valve.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) For the right wing only, do the steps that follow:
(a) Examine the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) cables and the pylon forward fitting for signs of damage.
1 As necessary, replace the worn components:
Subtask 36-11-48-420-098-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bleed air ducts and the anti ice valve.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) For the right wing only, do the steps that follow:
(a) Examine the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) cables and the pylon forward fitting for signs of damage.

- For the IDG cables (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-000-802) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-400-802)

B. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Pylon and the Anti Ice Valve
(1) Put the duct assembly (123) in position.
(2) Install the insulation gasket (124), the washers (125) and the bolts (126).
(3) Carefully put the duct assembly (130) through the vapor seal (129) into position with the duct assembly (123).
(4) Install the clamp (127).
(5) TORQUE the clamp (127) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
.
(6) Make sure that the clamp (127) is installed in the correct position.
(7) Tighten the vapor seal (129) around the duct assembly (130).
14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(9) Put the half clamps (138) and (139) into position on the duct assembly (130).
(10) Install the washers (133) and (132) between the half clamps (138) and (139) with the screws (131) and the nuts (134).
(11) Adjust the quantity of washers (132) and (133) to hold the duct assembly (130) tightly with the half clamps (138) and (139).
(12) Install the link assemblies of the half clamp (138) in position with the bolts (137), the washers (136) and the nuts (135).
(13) Connect the bonding leads (120) and (119) with the bolt (118), the washer (121) and the nut (122).
(14) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(15) Install the anti ice valve on the duct assembly (130) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-11-51-400-001).
(16) If you removed the only bleed air duct, then:
(a) Install the seals in the flexible connector (96) that follow:
(c) Install the duct assembly (94) in the flexible connector (96).
(d) Install the clamp (104) on the bleed air duct (89).
(e) TORQUE the clamp (104) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
.
(f) Make sure that the clamp (104) is installed in the correct position.
(g) Connect the bonding lead (99) with the screw (93), the washer (100) and the nut (101) on the duct assembly (94).
(h) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(i) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamp (104).
(17) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the items that follow:
Subtask 36-11-48-420-099-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the duct assembly (123) in position.
(2) Install the insulation gasket (124), the washers (125) and the bolts (126).
(3) Carefully put the duct assembly (130) through the vapor seal (129) into position with the duct assembly (123).
(4) Install the clamp (127).
(5) TORQUE the clamp (127) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (6) Make sure that the clamp (127) is installed in the correct position.
(7) Tighten the vapor seal (129) around the duct assembly (130).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(8) Safety the vapor seal (129) with (9) Put the half clamps (138) and (139) into position on the duct assembly (130).
(10) Install the washers (133) and (132) between the half clamps (138) and (139) with the screws (131) and the nuts (134).
(11) Adjust the quantity of washers (132) and (133) to hold the duct assembly (130) tightly with the half clamps (138) and (139).
(12) Install the link assemblies of the half clamp (138) in position with the bolts (137), the washers (136) and the nuts (135).
(13) Connect the bonding leads (120) and (119) with the bolt (118), the washer (121) and the nut (122).
(14) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(15) Install the anti ice valve on the duct assembly (130) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-11-51-400-001).
(16) If you removed the only bleed air duct, then:
(a) Install the seals in the flexible connector (96) that follow:
- The new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (95)
- The new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (97).
(c) Install the duct assembly (94) in the flexible connector (96).
(d) Install the clamp (104) on the bleed air duct (89).
(e) TORQUE the clamp (104) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (f) Make sure that the clamp (104) is installed in the correct position.
(g) Connect the bonding lead (99) with the screw (93), the washer (100) and the nut (101) on the duct assembly (94).
(h) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(i) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamp (104).
(17) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the items that follow:
- The washers (125) and the bolts (126)
- The clamp (127)
- The nuts (134), the washers (132) and (133) and the screws (131)
- The nuts (135), the washers (136) and the bolts (137).
C. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Closing Rib and the Pylon
(1) Install the seals in the flexible connector (96) that follow:
(3) Install the duct assembly (94) in the flexible connector (96).
(4) Install the clamp (104) on the bleed air duct (89).
(5) TORQUE the clamp (104) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )

(6) Make sure that the clamp (104) is installed in the correct position.
(7) Connect the bonding lead (99) with the screw (93), the washer (100) and the nut (101) on the duct assembly (94).
(8) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the pre cooler duct.
(10) Put the insulation gasket (80) and the duct assembly (84) in position.
(11) Install the bolts (83), facing washers (82), insulation washers (81) and the nuts (79).
(12) Install the cable support bracket (78) with the facing washers (77), the bolts (76), insulation washers (85) and the nuts (86).
(13) Put the duct assembly (89) in position on the duct assembly (84).
(14) Install the clamp (87) on the duct assembly (84).
(15) TORQUE the clamp (87) to between 7.90 and 5.60 m.N (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
.
(16) Make sure that the clamp (87) is installed in the correct position.
(17) Install the clamp (102).
(18) Tighten the clamp (102).
(19) Put the structural rods (90), (91) and (92) in position on the duct assembly (89).
(20) Install the bolts (108), the washers (107) and the nuts (106).
(21) Tighten the nuts (106).
(23) For the RH wing only, do the steps that follow:
(b) Install the bolts (112) and the nuts (114).
(c) Put the cable carrier (111) in position on the bracket (113).
(d) Install the bolts (110) and the nuts (115).
(e) If necessary, connect the IDG cables (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-400-802).
(f) Make sure the cable carrier (111) and the IDG cables are correctly positioned.
(26) If you removed the only bleed air ducts, then:
(a) Connect the bonding leads (69) and (75) with the screw (72), the washer (74) and the nut (73).
(27) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 36-11-48-420-100-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the seals in the flexible connector (96) that follow:
- The new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (95)
- The new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (97).
(3) Install the duct assembly (94) in the flexible connector (96).
(4) Install the clamp (104) on the bleed air duct (89).
(5) TORQUE the clamp (104) to between 5.10 and 3.90 m.N (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (6) Make sure that the clamp (104) is installed in the correct position.
(7) Connect the bonding lead (99) with the screw (93), the washer (100) and the nut (101) on the duct assembly (94).
(8) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the pre cooler duct.
(10) Put the insulation gasket (80) and the duct assembly (84) in position.
(11) Install the bolts (83), facing washers (82), insulation washers (81) and the nuts (79).
(12) Install the cable support bracket (78) with the facing washers (77), the bolts (76), insulation washers (85) and the nuts (86).
(13) Put the duct assembly (89) in position on the duct assembly (84).
(14) Install the clamp (87) on the duct assembly (84).
(15) TORQUE the clamp (87) to between 7.90 and 5.60 m.N (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (16) Make sure that the clamp (87) is installed in the correct position.
(17) Install the clamp (102).
(18) Tighten the clamp (102).
(19) Put the structural rods (90), (91) and (92) in position on the duct assembly (89).
(20) Install the bolts (108), the washers (107) and the nuts (106).
(21) Tighten the nuts (106).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(22) Safety the nuts (106) with the new AIPC 36-11-85-01-510 COTTER PINS (105). (23) For the RH wing only, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE IDG CABLES DO NOT TOUCH THE PYLON FITTING. IF THE IDG CABLES TOUCH THE PYLON FITTING, DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO THE CABLES AND/OR PYLON FITTING.
(a) Install the bracket (113), bolts (109), washers (117) and the nuts (116). (b) Install the bolts (112) and the nuts (114).
(c) Put the cable carrier (111) in position on the bracket (113).
(d) Install the bolts (110) and the nuts (115).
(e) If necessary, connect the IDG cables (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-400-802).
(f) Make sure the cable carrier (111) and the IDG cables are correctly positioned.
NOTE: This is necessary for the sufficient clearance between the IDG cables and the pylon fittings after the installation of the duct.
(g) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to: - The nuts (116), the washers (117) and the bolts (109)
- The bolts (112) and the nuts (114)
- The bolts (110) and the nuts (115).
- The nuts (79), bolts (83), facing washers (82) and the insulation washers (81)
- The nuts (86), insulation washers (85), facing washers (77) and the bolts (76)
- The clamps (87), (104) and (102)
- The nuts (106), the bolts (108) and the washers (107).
(26) If you removed the only bleed air ducts, then:
(a) Connect the bonding leads (69) and (75) with the screw (72), the washer (74) and the nut (73).
(27) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
D. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Intermediate Rib and the Closing Rib
(1) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (70) in the duct assembly (64).
(2) Carefully put the duct assembly (64) through the tube assemblies (63) and (65) into position with the duct assembly (60).
(3) Connect the bonding lead (69) with the screw (66), the washer (67) and the nut (68).
(4) Connect the bonding lead (69) and (75) with the screw (72), the washer (74) and the nut (73).
(5) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Install the sleeve assembly (59) on the duct assembly (60).
(7) Install the duct assembly (60) on the duct assembly (64).
(8) Install the clamps (58) and (61).
(9) TORQUE the clamps (58) and (61) to between 7.90 and 5.60 m.N (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
.
(10) Make sure that the clamps (58) and (61) are installed in the correct positions.
(11) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamps (58) and (61).
Subtask 36-11-48-420-101-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (70) in the duct assembly (64).
(2) Carefully put the duct assembly (64) through the tube assemblies (63) and (65) into position with the duct assembly (60).
(3) Connect the bonding lead (69) with the screw (66), the washer (67) and the nut (68).
(4) Connect the bonding lead (69) and (75) with the screw (72), the washer (74) and the nut (73).
(5) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Install the sleeve assembly (59) on the duct assembly (60).
(7) Install the duct assembly (60) on the duct assembly (64).
(8) Install the clamps (58) and (61).
(9) TORQUE the clamps (58) and (61) to between 7.90 and 5.60 m.N (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (10) Make sure that the clamps (58) and (61) are installed in the correct positions.
(11) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamps (58) and (61).
E. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between Slat Track 1 and the Intermediate Rib
(1) Put the tube assembly (15) into position on the aircraft.
(2) Install the duct assembly (16).
(3) Install the bolts (21), the facing washers (20) and the insulation washers (19).
(4) Connect the bonding leads (25) and (18) with the screw (17), the washer (24) and the nut (23).
(5) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (35) in the duct assembly (28).
(7) Carefully put the duct assembly (28) through the tube assembly (27) and into position with the duct assembly (16).
(8) Install the rib assembly (56) with the bolts (55) and the nuts (57).
(9) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (37) in the connector assembly (40).
(10) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (41) in the connector assembly (40).
(11) Install the connector assembly (40) into the intermediate rib and the duct assembly (28).
(12) Install the bolts (48), the facing washers (49) and the insulation washers (50).
(13) Connect the bonding lead (25) with the screw (26), the washer (34) and the nut (33) on the duct assembly (28).
(14) Connect the bonding lead (32) with the screw (29), the washer (31) and the nut (30) on the duct assembly (28).
(15) Connect the bonding lead (32) with the screw (38), the washer (54) and the nut (53) on the connector assembly (40).
(16) Connect the bonding lead (47) with the screw (39), the washer (51) and the nut (52) on the connector assembly (40).
(17) Connect the bonding leads (47) and (44) with the screw (43), the washer (46) and the nut (45) on the sleeve assembly (59).
(18) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(19) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:

(17) Connect the bonding leads (47) and (44) with the screw (43), the washer (46) and the nut (45) on the sleeve assembly (59).
(18) Do a check of the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(19) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:
- The bolts (21) and the washers (20) and (19)
- The bolts (55) and the nuts (57)
- The bolts (48) and the washers (49) and (50).
F. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between Slat Track 1 and the Fuselage
(1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bleed air duct in the fuselage.
(2) Put the bleed air duct (1) in position.
(3) Install the clamp (3).
(4) Tighten the clamp (3).
(5) Put the link assembly (10) in position on the bleed air duct (1).
(6) Install the facing washer (8) and the insulation washer (9) on the bolt (14).
(7) Install the bolt (14), insulation washer (13), facing washer (11) and the nut (12).
(8) Put the bleed air duct (5) in position.
(9) Install the clamps (4) and (6).
(10) Tighten the clamps (4) and (6).
(11) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:
Subtask 36-11-48-930-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bleed air duct in the fuselage.
(2) Put the bleed air duct (1) in position.
(3) Install the clamp (3).
(4) Tighten the clamp (3).
(5) Put the link assembly (10) in position on the bleed air duct (1).
(6) Install the facing washer (8) and the insulation washer (9) on the bolt (14).
(7) Install the bolt (14), insulation washer (13), facing washer (11) and the nut (12).
(8) Put the bleed air duct (5) in position.
(9) Install the clamps (4) and (6).
(10) Tighten the clamps (4) and (6).
(11) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:
- The clamps (3), (4) and (6)
- The washers (8), (9), (11) and (13), the nut (12) and the bolt (14).
G. Identification of the Clamps
(1) Use Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.04SAB2) to make a mark 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) wide and 8.0 mm (0.31 in.) long on the applicable clamps as follows:
