A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel (CP), push (in) the WHEEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW). Make sure that the WHEEL page shows on the ECAM lower display unit (DU).
   (4) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (5) Put the aircraft into flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

D. Cockpit Configuration
   (1) On the panel 115VU, make sure that the ENG MASTER 1 and MASTER 2 levers are in the OFF position.
   (2) On the panel 50VU, push (in) and release (out) the FADEC GND PWR 1 or 2 P/BSW. Make sure that the applicable P/BSW ON light goes off and then comes on.
   (3) On the center pedestal, put the throttle levers in the IDLE position.
   (4) Get access to the L/G page on the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-009).

A. Operational Check of the ECAM Landing Gear NOT DOWN Warning
   (1) Do this test:

  • push (in) the LGCIU1 P/BSW
  • the LGCIU1 menu shows
  • push (in) the NEXT PAGE P/BSW
  • the LGCIU1 Page 2 menu shows
  • push (in) the LANDING GEAR SIMULATION P/BSW
  • the LANDING GEAR SIMULATION page shows
  • push (in) the NOSE+LH+RH P/BSW
  • the NOSE+LH+RH page menu shows
  • push (in) the UPLOCKED P/BSW.
  • the UPLOCKED '<' goes off.

On the ECAM lower DU:

  • the WHEELS page shows the wheels in the UP position and L/G CTL in amber.

    NOTE : The amber crosses will stay on screen because the No. 2 LGCIU circuit breaker is open.


On 402VU:


- the UNLK (red) indicator lights show.

On the ECAM upper DU:

  • the L/G GEAR NOT DOWN display comes into view and after 30 seconds, L/G GEAR NOT DOWNLOCKED shows.

On the panels 130VU and 131VU:

  • the MASTER WARN lights flash
  • you can hear the warning chime.

On the Landing-Gear Normal Control-Lever (6GA):

  • the red DOWN arrow light comes on.
2.On the ECAM CP:

  • push (in) the EMER CANC P/BSW.
The warning chime stops.

On the panels 130VU and 131VU:

  • the MASTER WARN lights go off.


On 402VU:

- the UNLK (red) indicator lights stay on.

3.On the MCDU:
On the ECAM upper DU:
  • push (in) the DOWNLOCKED P/BSW.
  • the L/G GEAR NOT DOWN and L/G GEAR NOT DOWNLOCKED display goes out of view

- the UNLK (red) indicator lights go out and the LKD (green) indicator lights come on.

On the Landing-Gear Normal Control-Lever (6GA):

  • the red DOWN arrow light goes off.

On the ECAM lower DU:

  • the WHEELS page shows the wheels in the DOWN position.

    NOTE : The amber crosses will stay on screen because the No 2 LGCIU circuit breaker is open.
4.Push (in) the RETURN P/BSW until the CFDS menu page shows.
  • the CFDS menu page shows.
5.Push in the MCDU MENU P/BSW.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the aircraft back to the ground configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
   (2) Fully retract the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
   (3) Cockpit Configuration
     (a) On the center pedestal:
  • Put the throttle levers in the 0 position.
     (b) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
     (c) On panel 50VU:
  • Push (in) the FADEC GND PWR 1 or 2 P/BSW. Make sure that the applicable P/BSW ON light goes off.
   (4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (5) Make an applicable entry in the aircraft technical log.
   (6) Put a placard in the cockpit to:
  • State that the DOWN red arrow light on the L/G lever does not operate.

C. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
