A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (3) Make sure that the flight configuration precautions are obeyed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (5) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • On the panel 40VU in the cockpit,
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.

D. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new packings (2) and the new back-up rings (3).
   (6) If removed apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new seals (6) and the new back-up rings (5).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-11-420-051-B
A. Installation of the Brake Selector Valve 23GG
   (1) Remove the blanking plugs.
   (2) If removed install the new AIPC 29-11-15-02-120 RING (5) and the new AIPC 29-11-15-02-110 SEAL (6) on the bobbins (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (3) If removed install the bobbins (4) with the back-up rings (5) and the seals (6) in the brake selector valve (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (4) Install the new AIPC 29-11-15-02-130 RING (3) and the new AIPC 29-11-15-02-140 PACKING (2) on the bobbins (4).
   (5) Carefully install the brake selector valve (11) on the manifold assembly (1).
   (6) Install the bonding strap (7), the washers (8) and the bolts (9). TORQUE the bolts (9) to between 0.9 and 0.8 m.daN (79.65 and 70.80 lbf.in )

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (7) Safety the bolts (9) with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire 0.6 mm (0.024 in.).
   (8) Protect the bonding (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (9) Mark the bolts with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
   (10) Remove the blanking caps.
   (11) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (12) Connect the electrical connector (10) to the brake selector valve (11).

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Apply corrosion protection to the bolt head heads, pipe connectors and the adjacent areas (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (4) If necessary fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
