A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806) are open:
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
   (3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that the COVER - PROTECTION are in position to prevent damage to the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-420-095-A
A. Installation of the Anti-Ice Ducts and Insulation Blankets
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY THE INSTALLATION SEQUENCE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTALLATION SEQUENCE, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE HARDWARE WILL NOT BE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
   (1) Remove all the protective covers and caps from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Make a mark on the connections after you apply the standard or specific tightening torque (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the bolts that follow with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) :
     (a) The bolts (69), (65), (60), (58), (59), (48), (47), (45), (44), (42) and (37).
     (b) The two bolts (33), the four bolts (27), the two bolts (28), the two bolts (23), the two bolts (17) and the two bolts (10).
   (4) Install the anti-ice duct section (54) as follows:
     (a) If the anti-ice duct section (54) is removed and the aft Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) valve and/or the forward NAI valve and/or the anti-ice duct section (38) is/are installed:
       1 You must remove the full NAI system until the forward NAI valve and install again.
     (b) Make sure that the forward NAI valve is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-805). It is necessary to get correct access with tools.
     (c) Install a new AIPC 30-21-49-05-350 E-SEAL (57) in the anti-ice duct section (54).
     (d) Put the anti-ice duct section (54) in position on the engine with the flange against the engine case.
     (e) Install the four bolts (56) to attach the anti-ice duct section (54) to the engine case.
NOTE: Do not apply lubricant to the thread of the bolts (56).
     (f) TORQUE the four bolts (56) to between 127 and 109 lbf.in (1.44 and 1.23 m.daN )
T.
       1 Do not loosen the bolts (56) after you do the torque.
     (g) If removed, install the support link (70), as follows:
       1 Install the support link (70) to the engine bracket (66) using the bolt (65), the bushing (67) and the nut (68).
       2 TORQUE the nut (68) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (h) Install the bolt (69) and the nut (71) to attach the support link (70) to the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (54).
       1 If necessary, adjust the support link (70) (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-012).
     (i) TORQUE the nut (71) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (j) If removed, install the support link (63), as follows:
       1 Install the support link (63) to the engine bracket (61) using the bolt (60) and the nut (62).
       2 TORQUE the nut (62) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Install the bolt (59) and the nut (64) to attach the support link (63) to the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (54).
       1 If necessary, adjust the support link (63) (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-012).
     (l) TORQUE the nut (64) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (m) Install the bolt (58) and the nut (55) to attach the support link (31) to the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (54).
     (n) TORQUE the nut (55) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (o) Install the forward NAI valve (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-400-805).
     (p) Install the aft NAI valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-400-804).
   (5) Install the anti-ice duct section (38) as follows:
     (a) If removed, install the support link (52), as follows:
       1 Install the support link (52) to the engine bracket (46) using the bolt (47) and the nut (53).
       2 TORQUE the nut (53) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (b) Install the bolt (48) and the nut (51) to attach the support link (52) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
       1 If necessary, adjust the support link (52) (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-012).
     (c) TORQUE the nut (51) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (d) Install the bolt (45) and the nut (32) to attach the support link (31) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
       1 If necessary, adjust the support link (31) (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-012).
     (e) TORQUE the nut (32) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (f) Install the bolt (37) and the nut (35) to attach the support link (36) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (g) TORQUE the nut (35) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (h) If removed, install the support link (43), as follows :
       1 Install the support link (43) to the engine bracket (41) using the bolt (42) and the nut (40).
       2 TORQUE the nut (40) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (i) Install the bolt (44) and the nut (39) to attach the support link (43) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
       1 If necessary, adjust the support link (43) (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-012).
     (j) TORQUE the nut (39) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (k) Put the indicating tube (49) in position on the anti-ice duct section (38). Connect the coupling nut on the indicating tube (49) to the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (l) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the indicating tube (49) to the anti-ice duct section (38) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
     (m) Install the two bolts (33) to attach the support bracket (34) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (n) TORQUE the two bolts (33) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (o) Put the indicating tube (50) in position on the anti-ice duct section (38). Connect the coupling nut on the indicating tube (50) to the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (p) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the indicating tube (50) to the anti-ice duct section (38) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
   (6) If removed, install the insulation blankets on the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
     (a) Install the insulation blankets (77), (78), (79) and (80).
     (b) Install the 10
AIPC 30-21-49-05-461 TIE DOWN STRAPS (84) to attach the insulation blankets (77), (78), (79) and (80).
   (7) Install the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
     (a) Install a new
AIPC 30-21-49-05-170 E-SEAL (25) in the lower end of the anti-ice duct section (24) near the connection to the support plate.
     (b) Put the anti-ice duct section (14) in position on the engine.
     (c) Align the support bracket (22) with the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (14).
     (d) Align the flange at the upper end of the anti-ice duct section (14) with the support plate.
     (e) Install the two bolts (23) and the two nuts (21) to attach the support bracket (22) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (14).
     (f) Install the two bolts (17) to attach the retaining strap (18), the upper insulation blanket (16) and the anti-ice duct section (14) to the support bracket (19).
     (g) Install the four bolts (27) to attach the flange on the anti-ice duct section (14) to the support plate.
     (h) TORQUE the four bolts (27) to between 44 and 37 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.42 m.daN )
T.
     (i) TORQUE the two nuts (21) to between 67 and 57 lbf.in (0.76 and 0.64 m.daN )
T.
     (j) TORQUE the two bolts (17) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Install the V-band clamp (26) to connect the anti-ice duct section (24) to the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
       1 Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (26) around the flanges of the anti-ice duct section (24).
       2 Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (26) around the flanges of the anti-ice duct section (14).
       3 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (26) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T.
       4 Lightly tap around the outer diameter of the V-band clamp (26) with a MALLET - PLASTIC. Do not hit the latch mechanism on the V-band clamp (26).
       5 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (26) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T a second time.
     (l) Install the two bolts (28) and the two washers (29) to attach the support bracket (30) to the mating bracket on the anti-ice duct section (24).
     (m) TORQUE the two bolts (28) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
T.
     (n) Apply a bead of Silicone adhesive sealant-high temp. area one part paste (Material No.
CPNCL00963) RTV-106 between the integral flange of the anti-ice duct section (14) and the support plate, from the lower and the upper side of the support plate.
       1 Add more Silicone adhesive sealant-high temp. area one part paste (Material No.CPNCL00963) RTV-106, if there is no sufficient quantity of RTV-106 at the joint.
       2 Make sure that the bead of Silicone adhesive sealant-high temp. area one part paste (Material No.CPNCL00963) RTV-106 between the support plate and the anti-ice duct section (14) has a smooth fillet radius.
     (o) Install the lower insulation blanket (15) to the upper insulation blanket (16) and the anti-ice duct section (14).
     (p) Install the two AIPC 30-21-49-05-092 TIE DOWN STRAPS (82) to attach the upper and lower insulation blankets (16) and (15) to the anti-ice duct section (14).
   (8) If removed, install the insulation blankets on the anti-ice duct section (7) as follows:
     (a) Install the insulation blankets (71), (72), (73), (74), (75) and (76).
     (b) Install the 18
AIPC 30-21-49-05-421 TIE DOWN STRAPS (83) to attach the insulation blankets (71), (72), (73), (74), (75) and (76).
   (9) Install the anti-ice duct section (7) as follows:
     (a) Install a new
AIPC 30-21-49-05-080 E-SEAL (2) in the inlet (8).
     (b) Install a new
AIPC 30-21-49-05-070 E-SEAL (20) in the aft end of the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (c) Put the anti-ice duct section (7) in position against the anti-ice duct section (14) and the inlet (8) connection.
     (d) Install the two bolts (10) to attach the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (7) to the support bracket (9).
     (e) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (f) Install the V-band clamp (13) to connect the anti-ice duct section (7) to the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
       1 Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (13) around the flanges of the anti-ice duct section (7) and the anti-ice duct section (14).
       2 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (13) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T.
       3 Lightly tap around the outer diameter of the V-band clamp (13) with a MALLET - PLASTIC. Do not hit the latch mechanism on the V-band clamp (13).
       4 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (13) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T a second time.
     (g) Install the V-band clamp (3) to connect the anti-ice duct section (7) to the inlet (8) connector as follows:
       1 Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (3) around the flanges of the anti-ice duct section (7) and the inlet (8).
       2 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (3) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T.
       3 Lightly tap around the outer diameter of the V-band clamp (3) with a MALLET - PLASTIC. Do not hit the latch mechanism on the V-band clamp (3).
       4 TORQUE the nut on the V-band clamp (3) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
T a second time.
     (h) Install the upper and lower insulation blankets (11) and (12) to the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (i) Install the two
AIPC 30-21-49-05-022 TIE DOWN STRAPS (81) to attach the upper and lower insulation blankets (11) and (12) to the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (j) Install the upper and lower insulation blankets (4) and (5) on the inlet (8).
     (k) Install the two
AIPC 30-21-49-05-012 TIE DOWN STRAPS (6) to attach the upper and lower insulation blankets (4) and (5) to the inlet (8).
     (l) Put the indicating tube (1) in position on the anti-ice duct section (7). Connect the coupling nut on the indicating tube (1) to the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (m) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the indicating tube (1) to the anti-ice duct section (7) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
