A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-51-420-061-A
A. Installation of the Forward Air-Intake Anti-Ice Valve (forward anti-ice valve)
NOTE: This valve is also known as Pressure Regulating Shutoff-valve 2 (PRSOV2).
   (1) Remove protection caps from all open ports, tubes and hoses.
   (2) Remove protection caps from all connected electrical connectors and all electrical receptacles.
   (3) Each time TRIPLE TORQUE is required, perform as per (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814).
   (4) Do a mark on the connection after tightening application, refer to standard practices chapter (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (5) Lubricate the threads of the bolts that follow with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil – Turbine Engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) :
  • The nuts (19) and (29)
  • The bolts (21), (24) and (26).
   (6) Install the forward anti-ice valve (2) as follows:
     (a) Make sure that the flanges of the forward anti-ice valve (2) and the mating flanges of the ducts (10) and (20) are clean.
     (b) Install a new AIPC 30-21-51-02-060 E-SEAL (12) in the forward flange of the aft anti-ice duct (10).
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 30-21-51-02-070 E-SEAL (15) in the forward flange of the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (d) Put the V-Band Clamp (13) in position around the aft flange of the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (e) Put the V-Band Clamp (14) in position around the forward flange of the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (f) Carefully put the forward anti-ice valve (2) in position into the space between the two ducts (10) and (20).
       1 It is necessary to point the arrow on the valve in the direction of airflow. For the forward PRSOV, it is necessary to point the arrow in the forward direction.
       2 It is necessary to rotate the forward anti-ice valve (2) around its horizontal axis to get a better access for the easy installation of the V-band clamps.
     (g) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (13) around the aft flange of the forward anti-ice valve (2) and the forward flange of the aft anti-ice duct (10).
     (h) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (14) around the forward flange of the forward anti-ice valve (2) and the aft flange of the forward anti-ice duct (20).
     (i) Make sure that the tab on the forward anti-ice duct (20) flange engages with the mating slot in the forward flange of the valve.
     (j) Tighten the V-band clamps (14) and (13) with your hand. Do not torque the V-band clamps at this time.
   (7) Connect the strut (18) as follows:
     (a) Optional Procedure: If it is not possible to install the bolt (21) and the nut (19) to attach the strut (18), adjust the length of the strut (18) again as follows :
       1 Cut the safety cable (17) and discard it.
       2 Loosen the locknut (16) of the strut (18).
       3 Turn the strut housing to adjust the length of the strut (18) again.
         a Do not exceed the limit of maximum strut length. Two to five threads must be visible beyond the locknut. Threads must be visible in the witness hole.
       4 TORQUE the locknut (16) to between 1.42 and 1.29 m.daN (125.66 and 114.16 lbf.in )
T.
       5 Install a new CPNCL02691Safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) (17).
     (b) Move the strut (18) into the position between the ears on the forward anti-ice duct (20).
     (c) Install the bolt (21) and the nut (19) to attach the strut (18).
     (d) Tighten the nut (19) with your hand.
       1 Do not torque the nut at this time.
   (8) If disconnected, connect the strut (11) as follows:
     (a) Optional Procedure: If it is not possible to install the bolts (26) and the nut (29) to attach the strut (11), adjust the length of the strut (11) again as follows:
       1 Cut the safety cable (28) and discard it.
       2 Loosen the locknut (27) of the strut (11).
       3 Turn the strut housing to adjust the length of the strut (11) again.
         a Do not exceed the limit of maximum strut length. Two to five threads must be visible beyond the locknut. Threads must be visible in the witness hole.
       4 TORQUE the locknut (27) to between 1.42 and 1.29 m.daN (125.66 and 114.16 lbf.in )
T.
       5 Install a new CPNCL02691Safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) (28).
     (b) Move the strut (11) into the position between the ears on the aft anti-ice duct (10).
     (c) Install the bolt (26) and the nut (29) to attach the strut (11).
     (d) Tighten the nut (29) with your hand.
       1 Do not torque the nuts at this time.
   (9) Install the feedback tube (25) as follows:
     (a) Put the feedback tube (25) in position between the forward anti-ice duct (20) and the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (b) Connect the coupling nuts on the feedback tube (25) and tighten with hand. Do not torque the coupling nuts at this time.
       1 If necessary, loosen the coupling nut (31) and adjust the 90 degree elbow fitting (30) to connect the feedback tube (25). Once the 90 degree elbow fitting (30) is adjusted for connection of the feedback tube (25), torque the coupling nut (31) to between to between 1.66 and 1.50 m.daN (12.24 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (10) Torque the connections as follows:
     (a) TORQUE the V-band clamps (14) and (13) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) TORQUE the strut nuts (19) and (29) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in )
T.
     (c) Lightly tap the outer diameters of each of the V-band clamps (14) and (13) with a MALLET - PLASTIC.
       1 Do not hit the latch mechanisms on the V-band clamps.
     (d) TORQUE the V-band clamps (14) and (13) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
T again.
     (e) Use a counter WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the 90-degree fitting on the aft end of the feedback tube (25).
     (f) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque the feedback tube (25) coupling nut to the forward anti-ice valve (2) fitting.
     (g) Use a counter WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the 90-degree fitting on the forward end of the feedback tube (25).
     (h) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque the feedback tube (25) coupling nut to the forward anti-ice duct (20) fitting.
     (i) TRIPLE TORQUE the two coupling nuts on the feedback tube (25) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
T.
CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST THE MUSCLE TUBE WHEN YOU TIGHTEN IT. IF YOU APPLY A TORSIONAL LOAD, DAMAGE TO THE MUSCLE TUBE CAN OCCUR.
   (11) Install the muscle tube (9) as follows:
     (a) Connect the muscle tube (9) to the mating connector tube that extends from the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (b) Make a temporary mark on the forward coupling nut on the muscle tube (9).
     (c) Make a temporary mark on the mating connector tube that align with the mark on the coupling nut.
     (d) Use this mark while you torque the coupling nut to make sure that the muscle tube (9) does not become twisted.
     (e) Use a counter WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the mating connector tube that extends from the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (f) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque the muscle tube (9) to the mating connector tube that extends from the forward anti-ice valve (2).
     (g) TRIPLE TORQUE the forward connector on the muscle tube (9) to between 1.77 and 1.51 m.daN (13.05 and 11.14 lbf.ft )
T.
   (12) If removed, install the "SEGMENT SHROUD 5" again (
Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).
   (13) Complete the installation of the forward anti-ice valve (2) as follows:
     (a) Align the vent tube-hose (23) with the bracket (22).
     (b) Install the two bolts (24) to attach the vent tube-hose (23) to the bracket (22).
     (c) TORQUE the two bolts (24) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in ) T.
     (d) Remove the protective caps and covers from the HPT-ACC Wye Duct.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (e) If removed, install the HPT-ACC Wye duct again (
Ref. AMM TASK 75-21-10-400-803).

POST SB LEAP-1A 72-0292

     (f) Install the electrical harness (4) on the clamp (8) and tighten the bolt (7) with your hand.
     (g) TORQUE the bolt (7) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in ) T.

END POST SB LEAP-1A 72-0292

     (h) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the forward anti-ice valve (2) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (i) Push the electrical harness (3) and the electrical harness (4) into the spring clips (5).
     (j) Adjust the tension in the harnesses.

   (1) Do the pneumatic leak test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-790-810).
   (2) Do the Idle test (menu mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-803).
