(2) When you do the triple torque method, apply as per (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814).
(3) Make a mark on the connections after you apply the standard or specific tightening torque (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(4) Lubricate the threads of the bolts that follow with GRAPHITED PETROLATUM THREAD COMPOUND (Material No.CPNCL00182) :
(a) Bolts (23), if removed
(b) Bolt (18)
(c) Bolt (34)
(d) Bolt (29), if removed
(e) Bolt (24), if removed.
(5) On a bench, attach tube hose (11) to aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
(a) Manually connect the tube hose (11) to the fitting on the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(b) Use a WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(c) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque tube hose (11) to the aft anti-ice valve (1) fitting.
(d) TORQUE the tube nut on the tube hose (11) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )

(6) On a bench, attach vent hose (9) to aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
(b) Make sure that the tube points on the correct direction:
(d) Being careful not to exert a side-force upon the ventilation port.
(e) TORQUE the coupling (20) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
.
(f) Trim the tail of the coupling (20) to no longer than 12.7 mm (0.50 in.) beyond the torque screw housing.
(7) Install the aft anti-ice valve (1) assembly as follows:
(a) Make sure that the flanges of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the mating flanges of the ducts (10) and (36) are clean and in serviceable condition.
(b) Install a new AIPC 30-21-51-02-060 E-SEAL (38) in the flange of the forward inner duct (36).
(c) Install a new AIPC 30-21-51-02-070 E-SEAL (31) in the aft end of the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(d) Carefully move the aft duct (10) in the aft direction to allow the aft anti-ice valve (1) space for installation.
(e) Carefully put the aft anti-ice valve (1) in position in the gap between the two ducts (10) and (36).
(g) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (37) around the forward flange of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the flange of the forward inner duct (36).
(h) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (32) around the aft flange of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the flange of the aft duct (10).
(i) If removed, loosely assemble the V-band clamp (28) around the aft flange of the forward anti-ice valve (17) and the aft duct (10) flange.
(j) Tighten the V-band clamps (32), (37), and (28) by hand.
(a) Move the strut (35) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(b) Install the bolt (34) and nut (33) to attach the strut (35).
(c) Move the strut (19) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(d) Install the bolt (18) and nut (14) to attach the strut (19).
(e) If disconnected, move the strut (27) and the strut (25) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(f) If required, install the bolt (29) and nut (30) to attach the strut (27) and the bolt (24) and nut (26) to attach the strut (25).
(g) Hand-tighten nuts (33), (14), (30) and (26).
(a) TORQUE the V-band clamps (32), (37), and (28) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )

(b) TORQUE the strut nuts (33), (14), (30) and (26) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in )

(c) Lightly tap around the outer diameter of each V-band clamp with a MALLET - PLASTIC.
again.
(10) Install the muscle tube (21) as follows:
(b) Connect the muscle tube (21) to the mating connector tube that extends from the forward anti-ice valve (17).
(c) Make a temporary mark on the forward and the aft coupling nuts on the muscle tube (21).
(d) Make temporary marks on the mating connectors that align with marks on the coupling nuts.
(e) Use these marks as you torque the coupling nuts to make sure the muscle tube does not become twisted.
(f) Use a counter-wrench to hold the fittings of the forward and aft valves as the nuts on the muscle line are torqued.

(g) TRIPLE-TORQUE the aft connector on the muscle tube (21) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )

(11) Complete the installation of the aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
(a) Connect the tube hose (11) to the mating port on the aft duct (10).
1 Use a counter-wrench to hold the fitting on the aft duct (10) port fitting.
2 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque tube hose (11) to the aft duct (10) port fitting.
(b) TORQUE the coupling nut on the tube hose (11) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )

(c) If removed, install the bolts (23) through aft duct (10) flange and spring clip bracket (16).
(d) TORQUE the bolts (23) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in )
.
(e) Connect the vent hose (9) to the vent tube (22).
(f) Install the coupling (15) around the vent hose (9) and the vent tube (22).
(g) TORQUE the coupling (15) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
.
(h) Trim the tail of the coupling (15) to no longer than 12.7 mm (0.50 in.) beyond the torque screw housing.
(i) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the aft anti-ice valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
1 Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect electrical connector (2) to the aft anti-ice valve (1).

(j) Install the electrical harness (4) on the clamp (7) and tighten the bolt (6) with your hand.
(k) TORQUE the bolt (6) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(l) Push the electrical harness (3) and electrical harness (4) into the spring clips (5).
(m) Adjust the tension in the harnesses, as necessary.
(12) Install the sense tube (12) as follows:
(b) TORQUE the aft coupling nut on the sense tube (12) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )

(c) Verify that the forward coupling nut on the sense tube (12) correctly aligns with the aft duct (10) port fitting. Do not force the coupling nut onto the aft duct (10) port fitting.
(e) TORQUE the forward coupling nut on the sense tube (12) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). E. Get Access

CAUTION:
DO NOT LOOSEN OR REMOVE THE BOLTS ATTACHED TO THE FORWARD INNER DUCT (36) AND THE ENGINE CASE WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL PRSOV1. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN/TORQUE THE BOLTS, THIS CAN CAUSE LEAKAGE OF HOT AIR FROM THE FORWARD INNER DUCT DURING THE ENGINE OPERATION.
A. Installation of the Aft Air-Intake Anti-Ice Valve (aft anti-ice valve) (1) NOTE: This valve is also known as Pressure Regulating and Shut-Off Valve 1 (PRSOV1).
(1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and the connectors.(2) When you do the triple torque method, apply as per (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814).
(3) Make a mark on the connections after you apply the standard or specific tightening torque (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(4) Lubricate the threads of the bolts that follow with GRAPHITED PETROLATUM THREAD COMPOUND (Material No.CPNCL00182) :
(a) Bolts (23), if removed
(b) Bolt (18)
(c) Bolt (34)
(d) Bolt (29), if removed
(e) Bolt (24), if removed.
(5) On a bench, attach tube hose (11) to aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
(a) Manually connect the tube hose (11) to the fitting on the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(b) Use a WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(c) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque tube hose (11) to the aft anti-ice valve (1) fitting.
(d) TORQUE the tube nut on the tube hose (11) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
. (6) On a bench, attach vent hose (9) to aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY SIDE FORCE ON THE VENTILATION PORT OF THE AFT ANTI-ICE VALVE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HEAT SHIELD OF THE ANTI-ICE VALVE.
(a) Carefully connect vent hose (9) to aft anti-ice valve (1) ventilation port. (b) Make sure that the tube points on the correct direction:
- The flow arrow of the tube (9) must point from the cooling tube (22) to the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(d) Being careful not to exert a side-force upon the ventilation port.
(e) TORQUE the coupling (20) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (f) Trim the tail of the coupling (20) to no longer than 12.7 mm (0.50 in.) beyond the torque screw housing.
(7) Install the aft anti-ice valve (1) assembly as follows:
(a) Make sure that the flanges of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the mating flanges of the ducts (10) and (36) are clean and in serviceable condition.
(b) Install a new AIPC 30-21-51-02-060 E-SEAL (38) in the flange of the forward inner duct (36).
(c) Install a new AIPC 30-21-51-02-070 E-SEAL (31) in the aft end of the aft anti-ice valve (1).
(d) Carefully move the aft duct (10) in the aft direction to allow the aft anti-ice valve (1) space for installation.
(e) Carefully put the aft anti-ice valve (1) in position in the gap between the two ducts (10) and (36).
NOTE: The arrow on the valve must point in the direction of airflow. For the aft PRSOV, the arrow must point aft.
(f) Make sure that the key tab on the flange of the aft duct (10) engages with the mating slot in the aft flange of the aft anti-ice valve (1). (g) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (37) around the forward flange of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the flange of the forward inner duct (36).
(h) Loosely assemble the V-band clamp (32) around the aft flange of the aft anti-ice valve (1) and the flange of the aft duct (10).
(i) If removed, loosely assemble the V-band clamp (28) around the aft flange of the forward anti-ice valve (17) and the aft duct (10) flange.
(j) Tighten the V-band clamps (32), (37), and (28) by hand.
NOTE: Do not torque the V-band clamps at this time.
(8) Connect the struts as follows: (a) Move the strut (35) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(b) Install the bolt (34) and nut (33) to attach the strut (35).
(c) Move the strut (19) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(d) Install the bolt (18) and nut (14) to attach the strut (19).
(e) If disconnected, move the strut (27) and the strut (25) into position between the ears on the aft duct (10).
(f) If required, install the bolt (29) and nut (30) to attach the strut (27) and the bolt (24) and nut (26) to attach the strut (25).
(g) Hand-tighten nuts (33), (14), (30) and (26).
NOTE: Do not torque the nuts at this time.
(9) Torque the connections as follows: (a) TORQUE the V-band clamps (32), (37), and (28) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (b) TORQUE the strut nuts (33), (14), (30) and (26) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in )
. (c) Lightly tap around the outer diameter of each V-band clamp with a MALLET - PLASTIC.
NOTE: Do not hit the latch mechanisms on the V-band clamps.
(d) TORQUE the V-band clamps (32), (37), and (28) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
again. (10) Install the muscle tube (21) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT TWIST THE MUSCLE TUBE WHEN YOU TIGHTEN IT. IF YOU APPLY A TORSIONAL LOAD, DAMAGE TO THE MUSCLE TUBE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Connect the muscle tube (21) to the mating port on the aft anti-ice valve (1). (b) Connect the muscle tube (21) to the mating connector tube that extends from the forward anti-ice valve (17).
(c) Make a temporary mark on the forward and the aft coupling nuts on the muscle tube (21).
(d) Make temporary marks on the mating connectors that align with marks on the coupling nuts.
(e) Use these marks as you torque the coupling nuts to make sure the muscle tube does not become twisted.
(f) Use a counter-wrench to hold the fittings of the forward and aft valves as the nuts on the muscle line are torqued.

. (11) Complete the installation of the aft anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
(a) Connect the tube hose (11) to the mating port on the aft duct (10).
1 Use a counter-wrench to hold the fitting on the aft duct (10) port fitting.
2 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to torque tube hose (11) to the aft duct (10) port fitting.
(b) TORQUE the coupling nut on the tube hose (11) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
. (c) If removed, install the bolts (23) through aft duct (10) flange and spring clip bracket (16).
(d) TORQUE the bolts (23) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in )
. (e) Connect the vent hose (9) to the vent tube (22).
(f) Install the coupling (15) around the vent hose (9) and the vent tube (22).
(g) TORQUE the coupling (15) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (h) Trim the tail of the coupling (15) to no longer than 12.7 mm (0.50 in.) beyond the torque screw housing.
(i) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the aft anti-ice valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
1 Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect electrical connector (2) to the aft anti-ice valve (1).

(j) Install the electrical harness (4) on the clamp (7) and tighten the bolt (6) with your hand.
(k) TORQUE the bolt (6) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(l) Push the electrical harness (3) and electrical harness (4) into the spring clips (5).
(m) Adjust the tension in the harnesses, as necessary.
(12) Install the sense tube (12) as follows:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO SPRING BACK FORCE BETWEEN THE SENSE TUBE AND THE PORT FITTING OF THE AFT DUCT. IF THERE IS, DAMAGE TO THE AFT DUCT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Manually connect sense tube (12) to air sense tube (13). (b) TORQUE the aft coupling nut on the sense tube (12) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
. (c) Verify that the forward coupling nut on the sense tube (12) correctly aligns with the aft duct (10) port fitting. Do not force the coupling nut onto the aft duct (10) port fitting.
NOTE: If the sense tube (12) does not properly align with the aft duct (10) port fitting, adjustments to the securing clamps for air sense tube (13) may be required.
(d) Manually connect the sense tube (12) to the aft duct (10) port fitting. (e) TORQUE the forward coupling nut on the sense tube (12) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
. B. Operational Test
(1) Do the pneumatic leak test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-790-810).
(2) Do the Idle test (menu mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-803).

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
