A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-01-010-056-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from all the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Cover the openings of the VBV ducts and the ACC inlet duct as necessary.

B. Installation of the Segment Shroud 1
(1) Install segment shroud 1 (1) as follows:
(a) Install the Variable Bleed Valve (VBV) duct 1 (5).
(b) Lubricate the threads of the three bolts (2), six bolts (3) and eight bolts (8) with graphite mineral Vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Put segment shroud 1 (1) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the three bolts (2) that attach segment shroud 1 (1) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (2) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

(f) Install the eight bolts (8) that attach segment shroud 1 (1) to strut 1 (7) and segment shroud 2 (6).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (8) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(h) Install the six bolts (3) that attach VBV duct 1 (5) to segment shroud 1 (1).
(i) TORQUE the six bolts (3) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

C. Installation of Segment Shroud 2
(1) Install segment shroud 2 (6) as follows:
(a) Install the VBV duct 2 (9) and VBV duct 3 (15).
(b) Lubricate the threads of the eight bolts (10), 12 bolts (11) and six bolts (12) with graphite mineral Vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Put segment shroud 2 (6) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the six bolts (12) that attach segment shroud 2 (6) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the six bolts (12) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

(f) Install the eight bolts (10) that attach segment shroud 2 (6) to segment shroud 1 (1) and segment shroud 3 (18).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (10) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(h) Install the 12 bolts (11) that attach VBV duct 2 (9) and VBV duct 3 (15) to segment shroud 2 (6).
(i) TORQUE the 12 bolts (11) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(j) Lubricate the threads of the screws (13) and screws (14) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(k) Install the two screws (13) that attach segment shroud 2 (6) to the bracket (16).
(l) Install the two screws (14) that attach segment shroud 2 (6) to the bracket (17).
(m) TORQUE the two screws (13) and two screws (14) to between 59.0 and 51.0 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.58 m.daN )

(1) Install segment shroud 3 (18) as follows:
(a) Install the VBV duct 4 (19).

(c) Put segment shroud 3 (18) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the three bolts (20) that attach segment shroud 3 (18) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (20) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

(f) Install the eight bolts (22) that attach segment shroud 3 (18) to segment shroud 2 (6) and strut 5 (23).

(c) Put segment shroud 4 (30) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the three bolts (27) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

(f) Install the eight bolts (29) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to strut 5 (23) and strut 6 (24).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (29) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(h) Install the six bolts (28) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to VBV duct 5 (31).

(k) Install the two screws (26) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to the bracket (25).

(m) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (50) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(n) Install the bolt (50) and P clamp (43) that attach the harness (52) to the segment shroud 4 (30).
(o) TORQUE the bolt (50) to between 36.5 and 33.5 lbf.in (0.41 and 0.38 m.daN )

(a) Install the VBV duct 5 (31).
(b) Lubricate the threads of the three bolts (27), six bolts (28) and eight bolts (29) with graphite mineral Vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Put segment shroud 4 (30) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the three bolts (27) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )
. (f) Install the eight bolts (29) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to strut 5 (23) and strut 6 (24).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (29) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
. (h) Install the six bolts (28) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to VBV duct 5 (31).

(k) Install the two screws (26) that attach segment shroud 4 (30) to the bracket (25).

. (m) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (50) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(n) Install the bolt (50) and P clamp (43) that attach the harness (52) to the segment shroud 4 (30).
(o) TORQUE the bolt (50) to between 36.5 and 33.5 lbf.in (0.41 and 0.38 m.daN )
. F. Installation of Segment Shroud 5
(1) Install segment shroud 5 (39) as follows:
(a) Install the VBV duct 8 (42), VBV duct 7 (41), VBV duct 6 (40), and Active Clearance Control (ACC) inlet duct (36).
(b) Lubricate the threads of the eight bolts (32), 18 bolts (33) and eight bolts (34) with graphite mineral Vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Put segment shroud 5 (39) and attached ACC inlet duct (36) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the eight bolts (34) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the eight bolts (34) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

(f) Install the eight bolts (32) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to strut 1 (7) and strut 6 (24).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (32) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
.
(h) Install the 18 bolts (33) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to VBV duct 8 (42), VBV duct 7 (41) and VBV duct 6 (40).
(i) TORQUE the 18 bolts (33) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(j) TORQUE the hose clamp (38) to between 38.0 and 32.0 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )

(k) Lubricate the threads of the eight screws (44) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(l) Install the eight screws (44) that attach the ACC inlet duct (36) to the segment shroud 5 (39).
(m) TORQUE the eight screws (44) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Install segment shroud 5 (39) as follows:
(a) Install the VBV duct 8 (42), VBV duct 7 (41), VBV duct 6 (40), and Active Clearance Control (ACC) inlet duct (36).
(b) Lubricate the threads of the eight bolts (32), 18 bolts (33) and eight bolts (34) with graphite mineral Vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Put segment shroud 5 (39) and attached ACC inlet duct (36) in position on the engine.
(d) Install the eight bolts (34) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to the fan hub frame (4).
(e) TORQUE the eight bolts (34) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )
. (f) Install the eight bolts (32) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to strut 1 (7) and strut 6 (24).
(g) TORQUE the eight bolts (32) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
. (h) Install the 18 bolts (33) that attach segment shroud 5 (39) to VBV duct 8 (42), VBV duct 7 (41) and VBV duct 6 (40).
(i) TORQUE the 18 bolts (33) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
. (j) TORQUE the hose clamp (38) to between 38.0 and 32.0 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (k) Lubricate the threads of the eight screws (44) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(l) Install the eight screws (44) that attach the ACC inlet duct (36) to the segment shroud 5 (39).
(m) TORQUE the eight screws (44) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )
