(a) Release the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches (OFF legends on).
(b) Make sure that the batteries voltmeters show more than 26VDC.
(2) If one of the batteries voltage is less than 26VDC, do a charging cycle of BAT 1 and BAT 2 with the serviceable BCL 1(2), go to Para 4.D..
Then, continue this procedure.
(3) If the batteries voltage is more than 26VDC, push the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches (OFF legends off).
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

(5) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
NOTE: This step is only necessary to have light in the avionic bay and in the cockpit. If a torch is used to perform this procedure, this step can be disregarded.
B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):
Subtask 24-38-00-860-057-A NOTE: Do this step immediately after the check of the battery voltmeters and the de-energization of the aircraft electrical circuits.
NOTE: Parking brake's hydraulic system cannot be pressurized/depressurized.
NOTE: The horn does not operate.

(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(2) Go to Para. 5.
NOTE: If you use a FLASHLIGHT to get access to the avionics bay, steps 4. (C). (1) and 4. (C). (2) are not necessary.
(3) In the cockpit, on overhead panel 35VU, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use the batteries.D. Charging Cycle of Battery 1(2) with Serviceable BCL1(2)
(e) On the APU section of overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, if a different power source than the APU energizes the aircraft:
1 Make sure that the green line between the "BAT 1(2)" indication and the "DC BAT" busbar indication:
Subtask 24-38-00-630-050-A NOTE: This procedure is applicable when the battery voltage is less than 26VDC.
(1) If the BAT 1(2) voltmeter of ELEC panel 35VU shows a voltage less than 21VDC:- Remove the battery and send it to the workshop, or
- Replace the battery (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-400-001).
- Continue the procedure as follows:
- If it is not energized, energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
- If it is energized, do the steps that follow:
- Push the ELEC key to get the "ELEC" page.
- Make sure that the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches are pushed (the OFF and FAULT legends are off) to start the charging cycle of battery 1(2).
