(2) Extension of the left thrust-reverser translating sleeve.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER TRANSLATING SLEEVE MORE THAN 13 IN. (330.2 MM) WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR ON THE INBOARD SIDE IS OPEN. THE TRANSLATING SLEEVE CAN HIT THE SLATS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
(a) Manually deploy the thrust reverser translating sleeve to approximately 13 in. (330.20 mm) to get access (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802). CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(2) Adjust the clearances between the thrust reverser blocker doors and adjacent structure.
(a) Measure the clearances between the blocker doors and adjacent structure.
1 Make sure that the clearances between the blocker doors and adjacent structure are in the tolerances shown in X1 on the figure:
(b) If the clearances between the blocker doors and adjacent structure are not in tolerances shown in X1 of the figure:
Do the steps that follow:
1 Remove the applicable blocker door from the thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-000-801).
2 Adjust the number or type of washers (1) as necessary until the clearances between the blocker door and the adjacent structure are in the tolerances shown in the figure:
4 Install the blocker door back on the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-400-801).
(3) Adjust the steps of the thrust reverser blocker doors.
(a) Measure the height between the blocker doors and adjacent structure.
1 Make sure that the height between the blocker doors and adjacent structure is in the tolerances shown in X2 of the figure:
(b) If the height between the blocker doors and adjacent structure is not in the tolerances shown in X2 of the figure:
Do the steps that follow:
1 Remove the applicable drag link from the applicable blocker door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801).
2 Adjust the height of the applicable blocker door as follows:
a Remove the screw (2), washers (4) and bumper pad (3).
b Adjust the number of washers (4) as necessary until the height between the blocker door and the adjacent structure is in the tolerances shown in the figure:
c Apply anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) to the threads of the screw (2).
e Tighten with your hand the screw (2) until there is no space between the bumper pad (3) and washers (4). Tighten the screw (2) 1/8 more of a turn.
5. Close-upNOTE: This procedure gives instructions to adjust the blocker doors on the engine no. 1 left thrust reverser half. The procedure for the engine no. 1 right thrust reverser half and thrust reverser halves on engine no. 2 is the same.
(1) Make sure that the translating sleeves are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
NOTE: You can replace the washer (1) with a S700W0131T4H8 or S700W0131T4E8 to adjust the clearances between the blocker door and the adjacent structure. You can also add a second S700W0131T4H8 or S700W0131T4E8 to adjust the clearances.
3 Make sure that the washers (1) are on the same prong of the clevis as the anti-rotational bushing, but on the inner side. 4 Install the blocker door back on the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-400-801).
(3) Adjust the steps of the thrust reverser blocker doors.
(a) Measure the height between the blocker doors and adjacent structure.

b Adjust the number of washers (4) as necessary until the height between the blocker door and the adjacent structure is in the tolerances shown in the figure:
c Apply anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) to the threads of the screw (2).
NOTE: You can use anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) as an alternative to anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) .
Refer to the instruction of the manufacturer.
d Install the bumper pad (3) with the screw (2) and washers (4). Refer to the instruction of the manufacturer.
e Tighten with your hand the screw (2) until there is no space between the bumper pad (3) and washers (4). Tighten the screw (2) 1/8 more of a turn.
- Only use a hand SCREWDRIVER to tighten the screw (2).
- Do not use a motor-driven screwdriver.
