B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER.
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). NOTE: To get access to the drag links, you can also go into the inner thrust reverser or manually move the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-32-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Blocker Door Drag Links
(1) Removal of the protection covers:

(b) Remove the T-bolt (5) and the cap (4) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure. Discard the T-bolt (5).
(c) Remove the drag link (1), (2) or (3) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure.
(d) Hold the blocker door tightly. With the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent tool, open the spring leaf on the blocker door until you have access to the nut (6).
(e) Keep the spring leaf in position with the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent. Remove the bolt (9), the washers (7) and (8), and the nut (6) that attach the drag link (1), (2) or (3) to the blocker door. Discard the nut (6).
(f) Remove the drag link (1), (2) or (3) from the housing in the blocker door.

(b) Remove the T-bolt (5) and cap (4) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure. Discard the T-bolt (5).
(c) Remove the drag link (10) or (11) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure.
(d) Hold the blocker door tightly. With the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent tool, open the spring leaf on the blocker door until you have access to the nut (6).
(e) Keep the spring leaf in position with the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent. Remove the bolt (9), the washers (7) and (8), and the nut (6) that attach the drag link (10) or (11) to the blocker door. Discard the nut (6).
(f) Remove the drag link (10) or (11) from the housing in the blocker door.
(1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.(2)
CAUTION:
PUT A PROTECTION BLANKET ON THE THRUST REVERSER C-DUCT WHEN YOU GET ACCESS TO THE REAR SIDE OF THE BLOCKER DOORS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER C-DUCT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Manually deploy the left thrust-reverser translating-sleeve a short distance to release pressure on the drag link (1), (2) or (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802). (b) Remove the T-bolt (5) and the cap (4) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure. Discard the T-bolt (5).
(c) Remove the drag link (1), (2) or (3) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure.
(d) Hold the blocker door tightly. With the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent tool, open the spring leaf on the blocker door until you have access to the nut (6).
(e) Keep the spring leaf in position with the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent. Remove the bolt (9), the washers (7) and (8), and the nut (6) that attach the drag link (1), (2) or (3) to the blocker door. Discard the nut (6).
(f) Remove the drag link (1), (2) or (3) from the housing in the blocker door.

CAUTION:
PUT A PROTECTION BLANKET ON THE THRUST REVERSER C-DUCT WHEN YOU GET ACCESS TO THE REAR SIDE OF THE BLOCKER DOORS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER C-DUCT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Manually deploy the right thrust-reverser translating-sleeve a short distance to release pressure on the drag link (10) or (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802). (b) Remove the T-bolt (5) and cap (4) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure. Discard the T-bolt (5).
(c) Remove the drag link (10) or (11) from the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure.
(d) Hold the blocker door tightly. With the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent tool, open the spring leaf on the blocker door until you have access to the nut (6).
(e) Keep the spring leaf in position with the SCREWDRIVER or an equivalent. Remove the bolt (9), the washers (7) and (8), and the nut (6) that attach the drag link (10) or (11) to the blocker door. Discard the nut (6).
(f) Remove the drag link (10) or (11) from the housing in the blocker door.
