A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL 462AR.
   (2) If necessary, put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-33-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Blocker-Doors
NOTE: These procedures are for the left thrust-reverser blocker-doors. The right side is opposite.
   (1) Use the adhesive tape (Material No.PU1-0010) to attach the applicable left thrust-reverser blocker-door in position.
   (2) Remove the applicable drag link from the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801).
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER TRANSLATING SLEEVE MORE THAN 13 IN. (330.2 MM) WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR ON THE INBOARD SIDE IS OPEN. THE TRANSLATING SLEEVE CAN HIT THE SLATS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
   (3) Manually deploy the thrust reverser translating sleeve to gain access (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
   (4) Make sure that the translating sleeve does not hit other components.
   (5) Remove the applicable nut (5), washer (4), bushings (3) and bolt (2) that attach the applicable blocker door (1) to the floating clevis fitting. Discard the nut (5).
   (6) Remove the applicable nut (6), washers (7), (9) and (10), bushing (8) and bolt (11) that attach the applicable blocker door (1) to the fixed clevis fitting. Write the part numbers, quantity and location of washers (9) for later installation. Discard the nut (6).
   (7) Remove the adhesive tape (Material No.PU1-0010) from the blocker door (1).
   (8) Remove the applicable blocker door (1) and the drag link from the thrust reverser.
   (9) Remove the drag link from the blocker door (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801).
