THESE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURER, YOUR EMPLOYER AND GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS. YOU CAN GET INJURED IF YOU DO NOT USE PPE. GET INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR EMPLOYER ON WHICH PPE IS NECESSARY.
   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-door are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL 462AR.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER TRANSLATING SLEEVE MORE THAN 13 IN. (330.2 MM) WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR ON THE INBOARD SIDE IS OPEN. THE TRANSLATING SLEEVE CAN HIT THE SLATS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
   (2) Manually deploy the thrust reverser translating sleeve to gain access (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
   (3) Make sure the translating sleeve does not hit other components.
   (4) If necessary, put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-33-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust Reverser Blocker-Doors
NOTE: These procedures are for the left thrust-reverser blocker-doors. The right side is opposite.
   (1) Install the applicable drag link on the applicable blocker door (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801).
   (2) Install the applicable blocker door (1) on the thrust reverser as follows:
     (a) Put the applicable blocker door (1) in position and attach the blocker door (1) to the translating sleeve. Use the adhesive tape (Material No.PU1-0010) .
     (b) Attach the applicable blocker door (1) to the floating clevis fitting. Use the applicable bolt (2), bushings (3), washer (4) and the new AIPC 78-32-05-70-130 NUT (5) or AIPC 78-32-05-85-130 NUT (5) or AIPC 78-32-06-70-130 NUT (5) or AIPC 78-32-06-85-130 NUT (5).
     (c) Attach the applicable blocker door (1) to the fixed clevis fitting. Use the applicable bolt (11), bushing (8), washers (7), (9) and (10) and the new
AIPC 78-32-05-70-133 NUT (6) or AIPC 78-32-05-85-133 NUT (6) or AIPC 78-32-06-70-133 NUT (6) or AIPC 78-32-06-85-133 NUT (6). Install the head of the bolt (11) adjacent to the anti-rotational bushing on the clevis. The washers (9) should be on the same prong of the clevis as the anti-rotational bushing, but on the inner side.
NOTE: The washers (9) adjust the clearances of the blocker door (1). There can be from one to two washers, and their part numbers can vary. If you install a blocker door that you removed, use the same part numbers and number of washers (9) as recorded during the removal to get the same clearances.
     (d) TORQUE the nuts (5) and (6) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
T.
   (3) Manually stow the thrust-reverser translating sleeve (
Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
   (4) Attach the applicable drag link to the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801).
   (5) Remove the adhesive tape (Material No.PU1-0010) from the blocker door (1).
   (6) Adjust the thrust reverser blocker-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-820-801).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
