3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-00-941-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

D. Manually extend the thrust reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-010).

E. Disconnection of the Blocker Door Drag Link
   (1) Disconnect blocker door drag link from the fitting on the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-42-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-72-000-010).

F. Clean the Thrust Reverser Components
   (1) Clean the thrust reverser components that follow with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002)
     (a) Blocker doors (3).
     (b) Blocker door links (2).
     (c) Translating sleeve blocker door hinges (1).
     (d) Thrust reverser blocker door pivot fittings (4).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-00-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Examine the blocker doors and links.
   (1) Examine the blocker doors (3) for cracks, wear or other obvious damage, or for loose or missing fasteners (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-200-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-200-010).
   (2) Examine the translating sleeve blocker door hinges (1) for cracks, wear or other obvious damage, or for loose or missing fasteners.
   (3) Examine the thrust reverser blocker door pivot fittings (4) for cracks, wear or other obvious damage, or for loose or missing fasteners.
   (4) Examine the blocker door links (2) for cracks, wear or other obvious damage, or for loose or missing fasteners.
   (5) Rotate the blocker door and the blocker door links for signs of excessive stiffness or wear through their full range of motion. Reject the blocker door or the blocker door links if there are signs of excessive stiffness or wear.
   (6) Hold and shake the blocker door (3) for signs of blocker door hinge (1) looseness. If the blocker door and hinge attachments are not properly secured or show signs of wear, reject the blocker door and the hinge attachments.
   (7) Connect the blocker door link to the fitting on the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-42-400-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-72-400-010).
5. Close-up

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):

B. Manually retract the translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-011).

D. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

   (1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041)
