D. Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
   (1) Pressurize hydraulic system:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
Pressurize the Green hydraulic system with the Yellow hydraulic system through the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
On the lower display unit of the ECAM system:
  • Make sure that the HYD page shows that the pressure of the Green system is 3000 psi (206.84 bar) approximately.
NOTE: The PTU pressurizes the system to a nominal pressure of 3000 psi (206.84 bar), but if no consumers are operated the pressure is not constant. The PTU operates in a cycle which keeps the pressure in the green hydraulic system between 2100 psi (144.79 bar) to 3150 psi (217.18 bar).
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
Pressurize the auxiliary Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).
On the lower display unit of the ECAM system:
  • Make sure that the HYD page shows that the pressure of the Yellow system is 3000 psi (206. bar) approximately.
NOTE: On the lower DU of the ECAM, make sure that the yellow hydraulic system has a pressure of approximately 3000 psi (206.84 bar). If the ECAM system is not available, you can check the pressure. The pressure must be between 2900 psi (199.95 bar) and 3100 psi (213.74 bar) on the yellow power accumulator (3070GM).
   (2) On the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • release the FADEC GND PWR 1 (2) pushbutton switch (on the pushbutton switch, the ON legend is on).
   (3) On the FLT CTL panel 23VU:
  • make sure that the SEC1 pushbutton switch is on (on the pushbutton switch the OFF legend is off).
Subtask 78-31-00-710-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. On the left or right MCDU, get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
4. Procedure

F Thrust Reverser Test ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
6.Push the line key adjacent to the PRESS TO ACTIVATE TEST * indication.

7.Within 15 seconds, put the throttle control lever in the IDLE REVERSE position.
Do a visual check to make sure that the thrust reversers of the engine 1 (2) operate.
  • The thrust reverser must be fully deployed in less than 3 seconds.
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The REV indication in the EPR indicator of the engine 1(2) must be amber when the thrust reversers operate.
  • The REV indication must become green when the thrust reversers are fully deployed.
NOTE: you must do the instruction given on the MCDU in the time specified (15 seconds) if not the test will stop.
8.Put the throttle control lever in the IDLE position (zero on the scale).
Do a Visual check to make sure that the thrust reversers of the engine 1 (2) stow.
  • The thrust reverser must be fully stowed in less than 5 seconds.
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The REV indication in the EPR indicator of the engine 1(2) must be amber when the thrust reversers operate.
  • The REV indication goes out of view when the thrust reversers are fully stowed and locked.
NOTE: If you do not fully do the test in the minute that follows the test activation, the EEC will stop the test. The thrust reversers can then be in the intermediate position. In this case try again to stow the thrust reversers through MCDU test mode menu. If you cannot, stow the thrust reversers manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-011).
9.Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication until you get the CFDS menu.
The CFDS menu comes into view.
10.Push the MCDU MENU key.
