Subtask 78-32-42-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-32-42-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010)

(2) Make sure that the left thrust reverser is open: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010)

(3) Make sure that the translating sleeve is extended to approximately 3 in. (76.2 mm) to 4 in. (101.6 mm) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-010).

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
4. ProcedureSubtask 78-32-42-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the drag link
PRE SBN 78-0013
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position on the blocker door.
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-32-42-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL PRE SBN 78-0013
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position on the blocker door.
NOTE: Link is installed with thick end facing forward.
(2) Install the washers (10), the bolt (11) and the nut (9). (3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). B. Install the drag link
SBN 78-0013: Changed attachment of the drag link to the blocker door.
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position on the blocker door.
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-32-42-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL SBN 78-0013: Changed attachment of the drag link to the blocker door.
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position on the blocker door.
NOTE: Link is installed with thick end facing forward.
(2) Install the spacers (12), the washers (10), the bolt (11) and the nut (9). (3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). C. Connect the drag link to the fitting
PRE SBN 78-0032
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position in the fitting (6).
(3) Safety the pin (5) or the nut (7) with a new AIPC 78-32-45-81-060 COTTER PIN (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
Subtask 78-32-42-420-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL PRE SBN 78-0032
(1) Put the drag link (2) in to position in the fitting (6).
NOTE: Link is installed with thick end facing forward.
(2) Install the pin (5) or the bolt (8), the washers (4) and the nut (7). (3) Safety the pin (5) or the nut (7) with a new AIPC 78-32-45-81-060 COTTER PIN (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
D. Connect the drag link to the fitting.
SBN 78-0032: Changed the attachment of the drag link to the fitting.
(1) Put the drag link (2) in position in the fitting (6).
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-upSBN 78-0032: Changed the attachment of the drag link to the fitting.
(1) Put the drag link (2) in position in the fitting (6).
NOTE: The link is installed with the thick end facing forward.
(2) Install the bolt (8), the washers (4) (for A1 engines) or the washers (for A5 engines) and the nut (7). NOTE:
(3) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(4) Safety the nut (7) with a new AIPC 78-32-45-81-060 COTTER PIN (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014). Subtask 78-32-42-410-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the left thrust reverser half (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010).

(3) Manually retract the thrust reverser translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-011).
