3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-75-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR.
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser hydraulic control unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

D. Manually extend the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-010).

   (1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-75-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Examine the Blocker Door of the Right Thrust Reverser for Surface Damage
   (1) Examine the blocker door (not zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6).
     (a) Abrasion
       1 Less than 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) long by 0.03 in. (0.76 mm) wide by 0.05 in (1.27 mm) deep. Maximum of two abrasions, accept it.
       2 More than in 1_, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
     (b) Gouge
       1 Less than 0.50 in. (12.7 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) wide by 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) deep. Maximum of two gouges, accept it.
       2 More than in 1_, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
     (c) Nick
       1 Less than 0.30 in. (7.62 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) deep. Maximum of two nicks, accept it.
       2 More than in 1_, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       3 All nicks less than 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) from a bearing or bushing, reject it.
     (d) Corrosion
       1 No corrosion allowed, reject the blocker door.
     (e) Cracks
       1 No cracks allowed, reject the blocker door.
   (2) Examine the blocker door (1) (zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6).
     (a) Abrasion (zones 1, 2, 3 and 5)
       1 Zone 1 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       2 Less than in 1_, reject it.
       3 Zone 2 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       4 Less than in 3_, reject it.
       5 Zone 3 - 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) maximum blend depth, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       6 More than in 5_, reject it.
       7 Zone 5 - 0.020 in. (0.508 mm) maximum blend depth (no damage or repairs allowed in the 3.00 in. (76.2 mm) radius area arc), repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       8 More than in 7_, or in the 3.00 in. (76.2 mm) radius area arc, reject it.
     (b) Gouge (zones 1, 2, 3 and 5)
       1 Zone 1 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       2 Less than in 1_, reject it.
       3 Zone 2 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       4 Less than in 3_, reject it.
       5 Zone 3 - 0.30 in. (0.76 mm) maximum blend depth, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       6 More than in 5_, reject it.
       7 Zone 5 - 0.020 in. (0.51 mm) maximum blend depth (no damage or repairs allowed in the 3.00 in. (76.2 mm) radius area arc), repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       8 More than in 7_, or in the 3.00 in. (76.2 mm) radius area arc, reject it.
     (c) Wear (zone 4)
       1 Zone 4 - 0.600 in. (15.24 mm) maximum slot width after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-300-010).
       2 More than in 1_, reject it.
     (d) Wear (zone 6)
       1 Minimum thickness 0.150 in. (3.81 mm).
       2 More than in 1_, reject blocker door.
     (e) Corrosion (zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6)
       1 No corrosion allowed, reject the blocker door.
     (f) Cracks (zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6)
       1 No cracks allowed, reject the blocker door.
   (3) Examine the blocker door bushing.
     (a) Worn
       1 A wall thickness of 0.04 in. (1.02 mm) in radius or more, accept it.
       2 Less than in 1_, reject the blocker door.
     (b) Cracked
       1 Any cracks, reject the blocker door.
     (c) Gaps between the bushing and the lug
       1 Less than 0.09 in. (2.29 mm), accept it.
       2 More than in 1_, reject the blocker door.
     (d) Corrosion
       1 No corrosion allowed, reject the blocker door.
     (e) Cracks
       1 No cracks allowed, reject the blocker door.
   (4) Examine blocker door lugs and bearings.
     (a) Corrosion
       1 No corrosion allowed, reject the blocker door.
     (b) Craks
       1 No cracks allowed, reject the blocker door.
5. Close-up

     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

E. Operational Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
NOTE: As an alternative procedure, you can do the operational test without the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
