A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-32-45-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser

MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). E. Open the left thrust reverser half (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

A. Examine the blocker door (not zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6).
(1) Abrasion
(a) Less than 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) long by 0.03 in. (0.76 mm) wide by 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) deep. Maximum of two abrasions, accept it.
(b) More than specified in paragraph (a), repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
(2) Gouge
(a) Less than 0.50 in. (12.7 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) wide by 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) deep. Maximum of two gouges, accept it.
(b) More than specified in paragraph (a), repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
(3) Nick
(a) Less than 0.30 in. (7.62 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) deep. Maximum of two nicks, accept it.

(c) All nicks less than 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) from a bearing or bushing, reject it.
(4) Corrosion

(a) Less than 0.50 in. (12.7 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) wide by 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) deep. Maximum of two gouges, accept it.

(a) Less than 0.30 in. (7.62 mm) long by 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) deep. Maximum of two nicks, accept it.

(c) All nicks less than 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) from a bearing or bushing, reject it.

B. Examine the blocker door (zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6).
(1) Abrasion (zones 1, 2, 3 and 5)
(a) Zone 1 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
(b) Less than in (a), reject it.
(c) Zone 2 - 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) minimum remaining material thickness after repair, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
(d) Less than in (c), reject it.
(e) Zone 3 - 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) maximum blend depth, repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
(f) More than in (e), reject it.
(g) Zone 5 - 0.020 in. (0.508 mm) maximum blend depth (no damage or repairs allowed in the 3.00 in. (76.2 mm) radius area arc), repair it (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-300-010).
