A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-20-010-052-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 72-24-20-010-053-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

Subtask 72-24-20-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Outlet Guide Vane (OGV)
(1) Make sure that the cup washers (8) and (10) are installed on the OGV (1). If not, install the cup washers on the OGV (1) with the 956A6145G02 FIXTURE, INSTALL - OGV CUP as follows:
(a) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on all the external surfaces of the cup washers (8) and (10).
(2) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on the threads and pressure faces of the two bolts (9), two bolts (16), two bolts (7), two bolts (4) and two washers (5).
(4) Lubricate the OGV seal (13) with Vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
(5) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on the OGV (1) inner platform surface in contact with the fan hub frame.
(6) Install the OGV (1) and the two OGV seals (13) in the correct position on the fan hub (6).
(7) Cut the OGV seal (13) if it protrudes more than 0.025 in. (1 mm) from the OGV (1) inner platform end.
(8) Determine the gap between the OGV (1) and the fan case (12) to define the thickness of the adjusting OGV shims (11) and (15) to install.
(9) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on the contact faces of the two OGV shims (11) and (15) with the OGV (1).
(10) Install the two longer bolts (9) at the front and the two shorter bolts (16) at the rear to attach the OGV (1) with the two OGV shims (11) and (15) to the fan case (12) and tighten by hand.
(11) TORQUE the two bolts (9) and the two bolts (16) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
.
(12) Install the two bolts (7) to attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6) and tighten by hand.
(13) TORQUE the two bolts (7) to between 278.25 and 251.75 lbf.in (3.14 and 2.84 m.daN )
.
(14) Install the two bolts (4) and the two washers (5) to attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6) and tighten by hand.
(15) TORQUE the two bolts (4) to between 195.3 and 176.7 lbf.in (2.21 and 2.00 m.daN )
.
(16) Remove any excess of Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) using a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(17) Follow the steps from A (1) to A (16) to install the remaining OGVs (1).

(18) Seal all the bolts (7) as follows:
(19) Make sure that the surface of RTV103 is flush with the inner platform flowpath surface.

(20) Alternative procedure. Install the OGV plug (17) as follows:
(c) Bond the OGV plug (17) with the arrow in direction of the front of the engine.
(21) Make sure that the OGV plug (17) is flush with the inner platform flowpath surface.

(22) Install the strut panel (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-400-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-400-802) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-400-803).
(23) Install the segment shroud (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).
(24) Install the OGV platform (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-11-400-801).
(25) Install flowpath panels 1 to 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-09-400-801).
(26) Install the engine surface air cooling oil cooler (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-30-400-802).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the cup washers (8) and (10) are installed on the OGV (1). If not, install the cup washers on the OGV (1) with the 956A6145G02 FIXTURE, INSTALL - OGV CUP as follows:
(a) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on all the external surfaces of the cup washers (8) and (10).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE CUP WASHERS ON THE OGV, DO NOT USE THE ENGINE BOLTS TO PUSH THEM INTO POSITION. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE OGV CAN OCCUR.
(b) Push the cup washers (8) and (10) in their recesses on OGV (1) using the 956A6145G02 FIXTURE, INSTALL - OGV CUP.(2) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on the threads and pressure faces of the two bolts (9), two bolts (16), two bolts (7), two bolts (4) and two washers (5).
(4) Lubricate the OGV seal (13) with Vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
(5) Apply Jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) on the OGV (1) inner platform surface in contact with the fan hub frame.

CAUTION:
ONLY USE BLACK-COLORED RTV103 (CP2734) TO SEAL THE BOLTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO BUBBLES IN THE HOLE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
WAIT FOR SIX HOURS AFTER YOU APPLY RTV103 (CP2734) TO OPERATE THE ENGINE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Fully fill the holes of all the bolts (7) with RTV103 (Material No.CP2734) . (19) Make sure that the surface of RTV103 is flush with the inner platform flowpath surface.

(20) Alternative procedure. Install the OGV plug (17) as follows:
CAUTION:
WAIT FOR SIX HOURS AFTER YOU APPLY RTV103 (CP2734) TO OPERATE THE ENGINE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Apply RTV103 (Material No.CP2734) on the heads of the bolts (7). NOTE: Do not fill in counterbore of the OGV (1) inner with RTV103.
(b) Install the new EIPC 72-24-00-05-065 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-175 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-285 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-395 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-505 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-615 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-725 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-05-835 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-10-065 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-10-285 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-10-395 OGV PLUG (17) or EIPC 72-24-00-10-505 OGV PLUG (17) on the heads of the bolts (7). (c) Bond the OGV plug (17) with the arrow in direction of the front of the engine.
(21) Make sure that the OGV plug (17) is flush with the inner platform flowpath surface.
