A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-03-010-056-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 72-24-03-010-057-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Installation of the Strut 5
(1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(2) Installation of the strut 5 pad (right) (24):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (23) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 pad (right) (24) in the correct position.
(c) Install the two bolts (23) to attach the strut 5 pad (right) (24) to the fan frame hub (21) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the two bolts (23) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
.
(3) Installation of the strut 5 pad (left) (22):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (20) and the bolt (19) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 pad (left) (22) in the correct position.
(c) Install the bolt (19) to attach the strut 5 pad (left) (22) to the strut 5 pad (right) (24) and tighten it with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the bolt (19) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )

(e) Install the two bolts (20) to attach the strut 5 pad (left) (22) to the fan frame hub (21) and tighten them by hand.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (20) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
.
(4) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (18) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(5) Install the nut (17) and the bolt (18) to attach the strut 5 pad (right) (24) to the strut 5 pad (left) (22) and tighten them with your hand.
(6) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )

(7) Installation of the strut 5 fairing (left) (12):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the four screws (16), the three screws (15), the three screws (13) and the screw (14) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 fairing (left) (12) in the correct position.
(c) Install the three screws (13) to attach the strut 5 fairing (left) (12) to the strut 5 outer fitting (11) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the three screws (13) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(e) Install the three screws (15) and the screw (14) to attach the strut 5 fairing (left) (12) to the strut 5 fairing support (6) and tighten with them your hand.
(f) TORQUE the three screws (15) and the screw (14) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
.
(g) Install the four screws (16) to attach the strut 5 fairing (left) (12) to the strut 5 pad (left) (22) and tighten them with your hand.
(h) TORQUE the four screws (16) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(8) Connection of the bracket (4):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the four bolts (5) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the seal (3) on the bracket (4).
(c) Install the four nuts (2) and the four bolts (5) to connect the bracket (4) to the strut 5 (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the four bolts (5) to between 92.4 and 83.6 lbf.in (1.04 and 0.94 m.daN )

(9) Installation of the strut 5 fairing (right) (10):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the four screws (7), the three screws (8), the three screws (9) and the screw (2) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 fairing (right) (10) in the correct position.
(c) Install the three screws (9) to attach the strut 5 fairing (right) (10) to the strut 5 outer fitting (11) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the three screws (9) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

(e) Install the three screws (8) and the screw (2) to attach the strut 5 fairing (right) (10) to the strut 5 fairing support (6) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) TORQUE the three screws (8) and the screw (2) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
.
(g) Install the four screws (7) to attach the strut 5 fairing (right) (10) to the strut 5 pad (right) (24) and tighten them with your hand.
(h) TORQUE the four screws (7) to between 84 and 76 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(2) Installation of the strut 5 pad (right) (24):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (23) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 pad (right) (24) in the correct position.
(c) Install the two bolts (23) to attach the strut 5 pad (right) (24) to the fan frame hub (21) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the two bolts (23) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )

(a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (20) and the bolt (19) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 pad (left) (22) in the correct position.
(c) Install the bolt (19) to attach the strut 5 pad (left) (22) to the strut 5 pad (right) (24) and tighten it with your hand.
(d) TORQUE the bolt (19) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
. (e) Install the two bolts (20) to attach the strut 5 pad (left) (22) to the fan frame hub (21) and tighten them by hand.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (20) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
. (4) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (18) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(5) Install the nut (17) and the bolt (18) to attach the strut 5 pad (right) (24) to the strut 5 pad (left) (22) and tighten them with your hand.
(6) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
. (7) Installation of the strut 5 fairing (left) (12):
(a) Lubricate the threads of the four screws (16), the three screws (15), the three screws (13) and the screw (14) with the graphite mineral vaseline (Material No.CP2101) .
(b) Install the strut 5 fairing (left) (12) in the correct position.
