3. Job Set-up
Subtask 49-16-42-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
   (3) Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (5) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area
   (6) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
   (7) Make sure that the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (8) Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.
   (9) Make sure that access door 314AR is open and safetied in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
   (10) Make sure that the light switch is set to on.

4. Procedure
Subtask 49-16-42-910-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Remove the remaining sealant with a wood or plastic scraper and clean the structure with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to all junction components.

B. Installation of the Air Intake Duct
   (1) Put the air intake duct (1) in position and hold it.
   (2) Install the washers (3) and the bolts (2).
   (3) Tighten the bolts (2).
   (4) Install the top flange and the bottom flange as follows:
     (a) Engage the top flange (11) and the bottom flange (19) with the washers (24) and the bolts (23).
     (b) Tighten the bolts (23).
     (c) Install the engaged flanges on the air intake duct (1) with the screws (16) and (17). Do not fully tighten the screws at this time.
     (d) Install the washers (13) and the bolts (14). Do not fully tighten the bolts at this time.
     (e) Install the washers (10), bolts (9) and nuts (12).
     (f) Fully tighten the screws (16) and (17), bolts (14) and (9) and nuts (12).
   (5) Assemble and install the seal assembly as follows:
     (a) Engage the seal (7) and the frame (6) and install the washers (21), bolts (20) and distance washers (22) at the lower holes of the seal (7).
     (b) Engage the flange (8) with the seal (7) and the frame (6).
     (c) Apply Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) to fill the remaining gaps in the area of the flange (8) and the frame (6) of the air intake duct (1).
     (d) Install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
     (e) Tighten the bolts (20) and (4).
     (f) Install the seal assembly on the air intake duct (1) with the screws (15) and (18).
     (g) Tighten the screws (15) and (18).
   (6) Apply Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) around the gap between the air intake duct (1) and the flange (8).
   (7) Seal the bonding connections with Silicone Sealant-Firewall High Temp. - (Material No.06BHG1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
   (8) Install the air intake nose (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-44-400-002).
   (9) Install the air intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-002).
   (10) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-- Soft Film System (Material No.12AGC2) around the screw heads at the inner and outer sides of the air intake duct (1).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Do the operational Test of the Air Intake Flap and Diverter (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-00-710-004).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the light switch to off.
   (3) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
   (4) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
   (5) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
   (7) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
