3. Job Set-up
Subtask 49-12-52-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the warning notices is on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (5) Make sure that the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001) or removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-000-001).
   (6) Make sure that the light switch 11LJ is set to on.

4. Procedure
Subtask 49-12-52-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the tie-rods (9) and (11) and the vibration isolator (16) with solvent Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and a BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, MEDIUM. condition.
   (2) If the tie-rods and/or the vibration isolator are damaged, replace them if necessary.
   (3) Clean and examine the attachment brackets, the APU mount-bracket (14) and the structure for damage and replace if nescessary.
Subtask 49-12-52-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Vibration Isolator
   (1) Protective Treatment
     (a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to all mating surfaces. Do not apply it to the bonding straps.
   (2) Install the vibration isolator (16) on the APU mount-bracket (14).
   (3) If removed install the tie-rods (4) and (6).
     (a) Install the bolts (18), the washers (19) and the castle nuts (20).
     (b) Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts (20) to between to between 0.75 and 0.55 m.daN (66.37 and 48.67 lbf.in ) T and safety them with the new AIPC 49-12-04-03-100 COTTER PIN (21) or AIPC 49-12-84-42-070 COTTER PINS (21).
     (c) Connect the bonding straps (10).
     (d) Install the bolts (7), the washers (8) and the nuts (9).
     (e) Tighten and TORQUE the nuts (9) to between to between 0.26 and 0.22 m.daN (23.01 and 19.47 lbf.in )

     (f) Install the clamps (26) and (27) with the bolts (22), the washers (23), the bonding strap (24) and the nuts (25) at the tie-rod (4).
   (4) Install the tie-rods (4) and (6) at the vibration isolator.
   (5) Install the bolts (5) and (17), the washers (1) and (12) and the castle nuts (2) and (13).
   (6) Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts
and safety them with the new AIPC 49-12-04-03-110 COTTER PIN (3) or AIPC 49-12-84-42-080 COTTER PIN (3) and AIPC 49-12-04-03-100 COTTER PIN (11) or AIPC 49-12-84-42-070 COTTER PIN (11).
   (7) Remove the
98A49107504001 PROTECTOR-THREADS,APU MOUNTING BOLTS and install the nut (15).
   (8) Tighten and TORQUE the nut (15) to between 3.1 and 2.5 m.daN (22.86 and 18.44 lbf.ft ) T
   (9) Put a mark on the nut (15) with red locking varnish to identify the torqued position.

D. Apply a thin layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) to the vibration isolator (16), the tie-rod ends, the suspension structural brackets and the APU mount-bracket.

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the light switch 11LJ to off.
   (3) Close the APU access doors 316AR 315AL (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001) .
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 49-12-52-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
