TASK 36-12-00-615-808-A
Decontamination of the Bleed-Air Ducting System Disconnected at HP Ground Connector with the APU Bleed Pressure

WARNING: WHILE THE APU OPERATES, DO NOT GO INTO THESE AREAS:
  • THE AREA BEHIND THE APU EXHAUST DUCT: 25m (82ft.) REARWARD OF THE DUCT, MORE THAN 3m (10ft.) ABOVE THE GROUND, AND THE WIDTH OF THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER
  • THE AREA AROUND THE APU AIR-INTAKE: 2m (7ft) AROUND THE INTAKE
  • THE AREA OF THE OIL-COOLER OUTLET.
THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY IF YOU GO INTO THESE AREAS.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE APPLICABLE GLOVES TO TOUCH HOT PARTS. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA AROUND THE APU IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU START THE APU. TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS IN THE APU COMPARTMENT AND/OR ON THE ACCESS PLATFORM CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU WHEN IT OPERATES.

4. Procedure
Subtask 36-12-00-615-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Odor Smell in the Bleed-Air Ducting System
   (1) Start the APU:
NOTE: After the APU starts, Airbus recommends you to wait for a minimum of 3 minutes for the warm up period, before you select the APU BLEED.
   (2) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Set the PACK 1 and 2 pushbutton-switches to the pushed position (the OFF legends are off).
NOTE: After this step, hot air goes out of the aircraft from the HP ground connector.

   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the BLEED key:
     (a) On the SD, the BLEED page comes into view.
     (b) The BLEED page shows that the APU bleed air-supply is correct.
   (4) Start the pressurization of the bleed-air ducting system with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-802).
   (5) On the ECAM display, make sure that the engine bleed temperature is 200 -10 DEG.C or +10 DEG.C (392 -18 DEG.F or +18 DEG.F).
   (6) Wait for a minimum of 15 minutes.
   (7) The ECAM control panel can show the unusual BLEED and the pack fault messages.
NOTE: The system operates correctly and it is not important to do the related troubleshooting procedure at this step.
   (8) Stop the pressurization of the bleed-air ducting system.
   (9) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Set the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch to the released position (the OFF legend is on).
   (10) Stop the APU:
