Installation of the Manifold Assembly

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the hydraulic safety procedures are obeyed (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
Subtask 32-51-21-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the hydraulic safety procedures are obeyed (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
- On panel 40VU in the cockpit
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the RH MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(3) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the manifold assembly (2) to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.
Subtask 32-51-21-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(3) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the manifold assembly (2) to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.
D. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 32-51-21-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
B. Installation of the Manifold Assembly
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Put the manifold assembly (2) in position on the aircraft structure and install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(3) Tighten the bolts (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-11-911-001).
(4) Connect the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) to the manifold assembly (2).
(5) TORQUE the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. Use two wrenches, one to hold the unions of the manifold assembly (2) and other to tighten the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
(6) Paint a red line across the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(7) Install the safety valve (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-21-400-001).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Put the manifold assembly (2) in position on the aircraft structure and install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(3) Tighten the bolts (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-11-911-001).
(4) Connect the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) to the manifold assembly (2).
(5) TORQUE the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. Use two wrenches, one to hold the unions of the manifold assembly (2) and other to tighten the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001). (6) Paint a red line across the hydraulic unions (1) and (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(7) Install the safety valve (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-21-400-001).

B. Preparation for Test
(1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
Subtask 32-51-21-720-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
C. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
(2) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the manifold assembly (2).

(2) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the manifold assembly (2).
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
(3) Apply corrosion preventive compound to the heads of the bolts (5) and the adjacent area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002). D. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the RH MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
