3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-51-21-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
   (4) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002):
   (5) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (6) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the panel 40VU in the cockpit
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (7) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (8) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the safety valve (6).

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-51-21-560-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (6) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the seals of the drum-equipped assemblies (2).
   (7) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the threads of the bolts (4) and (5).

B. Installation of the Safety Valve
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Install the new AIPC 32-51-03-05-120 DRUM-EQUIPPED ASSEMBLIES (2) or AIPC 32-51-83-05-080 DRUM-EQUIPPED ASSEMBLIES (2) in the safety valve (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (3) Carefully install the safety valve (6) on the manifold (1).
   (4) Install the washers (3) and bolts (4) and (5).
   (5) TORQUE the bolts (4) and (5) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.

C. Preparation for Test
   (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (2) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Test
   (1) Do an functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
   (2) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the safety valve (6).
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up
Subtask 32-51-21-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
