A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
(5) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in position.
Subtask 32-33-00-010-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(5) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in position.
B. Get Access
(1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR is installed in each NLG door.
(3) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable MLG door actuator.
(5) Open the avionics-compartment lateral-right doors 822 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(6) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(7) Remove the forward cargo-compartment ceiling panels 131AC 131BC 131CC.
(8) Remove the rear partition 132PW of the forward cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-001).
(9) Remove the cockpit floor panels 211FF 211JF 212GF 212NF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-000-001).
(a) Remove the cabin floor panels 221LF 222CF 222EF 232DF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-12-000-001).
(b) Remove the cabin floor panel 232LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the cabin floor panels 242BF 241EF 241FF 242FF 242GF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
(d) Remove the cabin floor panels 242MF 242LF 242KF 241JF 241KF 241LF 241MF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
(e) Remove the cockpit center-pedestal rear cover (below the GEAR GRAVITY EXTN handle).

(b) Remove the cabin floor panel 232LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the cabin floor panels 242BF 241EF 241FF 242FF 242GF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
(d) Remove the cabin floor panels 242MF 242LF 242KF 241JF 241KF 241LF 241MF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
(e) Remove the cockpit center-pedestal rear cover (below the GEAR GRAVITY EXTN handle).
B. Get Access
(1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR is installed in each NLG door.
(3) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable MLG door actuator.
(5) Open the avionics-compartment lateral-right doors 822 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

(b) Remove the cabin floor panel 232LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-000-001).

(e) Remove the cockpit center-pedestal rear cover (below the GEAR GRAVITY EXTN handle).
4. Procedure(1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).

(3) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).

(9) Remove the cockpit floor panels 211FF 211JF 212GF 212NF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-000-001).
(a) Remove the cabin floor panels 221LF 222CF 222EF 232DF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-12-000-001).
(b) Remove the cabin floor panel 232LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-000-001).

Subtask 32-33-00-210-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Detailed Inspection of the Free-Fall Mechanism Cables
(1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) They are attached and connected correctly with the end fittings not pulled out.
(b) They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
(c) The two cable connectors at FR9 and FR10 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(2) Do a check of the cables from FR12 thru FR16 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) The cable guides at FR14 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(3) Do a check of the cables from FR14 thru FR24A (Passenger Compartment) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) The cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) The cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(c) The cable connectors between FR23 and FR28 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(d) The cable routing is straight between FR23 and FR28 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR23 and FR28, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR23 and FR28 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR23 and FR28 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) The cable pressure seals (FR42 to FR43) are attached correctly and are not worn.
(b) The cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(c) The cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(d) They have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.
Subtask 32-33-00-210-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) They are attached and connected correctly with the end fittings not pulled out.

(c) The two cable connectors at FR9 and FR10 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.

(3) Do a check of the cables from FR14 thru FR24A (Passenger Compartment) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
- They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
(a) The cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) The cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(c) The cable connectors between FR23 and FR28 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(d) The cable routing is straight between FR23 and FR28 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR23 and FR28, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR23 and FR28 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR23 and FR28 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) The cable pressure seals (FR42 to FR43) are attached correctly and are not worn.
(b) The cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(c) The cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(d) They have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.

(1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that:

3 The two cable connectors at FR9 and FR10 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.

(b) Make sure that the cable guides at FR14 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(3) Do a check of the cables from FR14 thru FR24A (cabin floor panels) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) The cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) The cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) The cable guides at FR34, FR35.5, FR36 and FR41 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(b) The cable connectors between FR35.5 and FR36 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(c) The cable routing is straight between FR35.5 and FR36 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR35.5 and FR36, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR35.5 and FR36 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR35.5 and FR36 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(d) The cable pressure seals between FR42 and FR43 are attached correctly and are not worn.
(e) The cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear
(f) The cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and turnbuckles are tight.
(g) They have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.
Subtask 32-33-00-210-059-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that:

(b) The cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:
(a) The cable guides at FR34, FR35.5, FR36 and FR41 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(b) The cable connectors between FR35.5 and FR36 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(c) The cable routing is straight between FR35.5 and FR36 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR35.5 and FR36, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR35.5 and FR36 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR35.5 and FR36 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(d) The cable pressure seals between FR42 and FR43 are attached correctly and are not worn.
(e) The cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear
(f) The cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and turnbuckles are tight.
(g) They have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.
A. Detailed Inspection of the Free-Fall Mechanism Cables
(1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that:
1 They are attached and connected correctly with the end fittings not pulled out.
2 They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
3 The two cable connectors at FR9 and FR10 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(2) Do a check of the cables from FR12 thru FR16 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that:
1 They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
2 The cable guides at FR14 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(3) Do a check of the cables from FR14 thru FR24A (cabin floor panels) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that the cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(4) Do a check of the cables from FR24A thru FR34 (forward cargo compartment) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that the cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) Make sure that the cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that the cable connectors at FR36 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(b) The cable routing is straight between FR35 and FR37 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR35 and FR37, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR35 and FR37 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR35 and FR37 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(c) Make sure that the cable pressure seals (FR42 to FR43) are attached correctly and are not worn.
(d) Make sure that the cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(e) Make sure that the cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(f) Make sure that the cables have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.
Subtask 32-33-00-860-077-A (1) Do a check of the cables from FR7 thru FR12 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that:
1 They are attached and connected correctly with the end fittings not pulled out.
2 They do not have kinks, broken wires or wear.
3 The two cable connectors at FR9 and FR10 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(2) Do a check of the cables from FR12 thru FR16 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).

(4) Do a check of the cables from FR24A thru FR34 (forward cargo compartment) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that the cables have no kinks, broken wires or wear.
(b) Make sure that the cable guides at FR23, FR28 and FR33 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(5) Do a check of the cables from FR34 thru FR46 (MLG bay) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001).
(a) Make sure that the cable connectors at FR36 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(b) The cable routing is straight between FR35 and FR37 and the two cables are parallel.
1 If the cable routing is not straight between FR35 and FR37, do the steps that follow:
a Adjust the turnbuckle between FR35 and FR37 to decrease the tension in the cable.
b Align the cables between FR35 and FR37 until they are straight and parallel.
c Adjust the cable tension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
(c) Make sure that the cable pressure seals (FR42 to FR43) are attached correctly and are not worn.
(d) Make sure that the cable guides at FR42 are not damaged and do not have wear.
(e) Make sure that the cable connectors between FR42 and FR43 are safetied and the turnbuckles are tight.
(f) Make sure that the cables have no kinks, broken wires or signs of wear.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Move the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle away from the folded position.
(3) Turn the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle clockwise three full turns.
(4) Fold the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle into the center console.
(5) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in the position.

(1) On panel 11VU, remove the WEDGE - NON METALLIC from the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle. (2) Move the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle away from the folded position.
(3) Turn the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle clockwise three full turns.
(4) Fold the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle into the center console.
(5) Install a WEDGE - NON METALLIC on each side of the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to lock the handle in the position.
C. Detailed Inspection of the Free-Fall Mechanism Cables after the Free-fall Mechanism has been Moved
(1) Check the part of the cables that could not be seen before (from FR7 thru FR12) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-24-12-200-001) to make sure that:

E. Installation of the Rigging Pins
Subtask 32-33-00-210-056-A NOTE: It is important to install the rigging pins exactly as given in the procedure. This will make sure that all the datum positions are correct.
(1) Install the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 1. Make sure that the rigging pin goes through the pulley frame and the pulley. Keep the rigging pin in position. F. Detailed Inspection from FR7 thru FR12:
(1) Examine the GEAR GRAVITY EXTN handle for damage.
(2) At the reduction gearbox make sure that:

(5) Make sure that the cable retaining pins on the pulley at FR12 are not damaged or cracked and are attached correctly.

- it is attached correctly and the parts that attach the gearbox are tight
- the driveshaft is free from damage, cracks and distortion
- the driveshaft is attached correctly
- the pulley stop screws are safetied and tight
- the pulley shear pins are not damaged or loose
- the pulley is not loose, damaged or cracked.
(4) Make sure that the two pulleys at FR8 and FR12 are not loose, damaged or cracked.
(5) Make sure that the cable retaining pins on the pulley at FR12 are not damaged or cracked and are attached correctly.
G. Detailed Inspection from FR12 thru FR16:
