NLG Sliding RodSubtask 32-21-00-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) make sure that you read the instructions given in the Inspection after the Aircraft goes off the runway/taxiway (Ref. AMM TASK 05-51-24-200-001) before you do this task.
(2) On the panel 400VU, make sure that the landing gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
(3) On the panel 110VU, make sure that the free-fall control handle is in the usual position.
(4) On the nose gear leg, on the electrical box (5GC) make sure that the towing lever is in the towing position (disengaged position).
(5) Lift the aircraft at the forward jacking point (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
(7) Release the remaining pressure from the servo-control (6GC) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-51-000-001).
(8) Disconnect the torque link at its apex point (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-000-001).
Subtask 32-21-00-860-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) make sure that you read the instructions given in the Inspection after the Aircraft goes off the runway/taxiway (Ref. AMM TASK 05-51-24-200-001) before you do this task.
(2) On the panel 400VU, make sure that the landing gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
(3) On the panel 110VU, make sure that the free-fall control handle is in the usual position.
(4) On the nose gear leg, on the electrical box (5GC) make sure that the towing lever is in the towing position (disengaged position).
(5) Lift the aircraft at the forward jacking point (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
NOTE: During lifting, make sure that extension of the shock absorber is smooth and full.
(6) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001). (7) Release the remaining pressure from the servo-control (6GC) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-51-000-001).
(8) Disconnect the torque link at its apex point (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-000-001).
NOTE: Disconnect only the center shaft of the torque link.
(9) Disconnect the drag strut-to-barrel pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-16-000-002). A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

(1) Open the main doors of the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.
C. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the D23080000 PIN-GROUND LOCK,NLG or MZ23080000 PIN-LOCKING as an alternative is in position.
(2) Make sure that the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR are in position.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the D23080000 PIN-GROUND LOCK,NLG or MZ23080000 PIN-LOCKING as an alternative is in position.
(2) Make sure that the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR are in position.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
Subtask 32-21-00-210-058-A
A. Inspection
(1) Measure the out-of-roundness of the chrome plated area of the sliding rod on a minimum of 7 sections between 70 mm (2.7559 in.) and 450 mm (17.7165 in.)from end of chrome plated zone .
(3) Measure the diameter of the cylinder body at its ends:
Subtask 32-21-00-860-054-A (1) Measure the out-of-roundness of the chrome plated area of the sliding rod on a minimum of 7 sections between 70 mm (2.7559 in.) and 450 mm (17.7165 in.)from end of chrome plated zone .
- out of roundness=(maximum diameter-minimum diameter)/2
- on each section the out-of-round must not be more than 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.)
(3) Measure the diameter of the cylinder body at its ends:
- the diameter must not be more than 88.3 mm (3.4764 in.).
- make sure that the rotating tube turns freely.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Connect the drag strut-to-barrel pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-16-400-002).
(2) Connect the torque link (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-001).
(3) Lower the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-586-001).
Subtask 32-21-00-710-050-A (1) Connect the drag strut-to-barrel pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-16-400-002).
(2) Connect the torque link (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-001).
(3) Lower the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-586-001).
C. Test
(1) Do a functional test of the steering system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-004).
5. Close-up(1) Do a functional test of the steering system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-004).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
