A. Replacement of the Quick-Release Coupling
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) Disconnect the quick-release coupling (2) from the brake coupling (3).
   (2) Put the quick-release coupling (2) into the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
   (3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Remove and discard the lockwire from the quick-release coupling (2) and the hose assembly (1).
   (5) Remove the quick-release coupling (2) from the hose assembly (1). Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hose assembly (1).
   (6) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
  • The interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (7) Install the new AIPC 32-11-12-03-010 QUICK-RELEASE COUPLING (2) to the hose assembly (1).
CAUTION: HOLD THE QUICK-RELEASE COUPLING WHEN YOU TORQUE THE HOSE ASSEMBLY AND MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT TURN. DAMAGE TO THE QUICK-RELEASE COUPLING CAN OCCUR IF IT TURNS.
