A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below access door 824.
   (2) Open access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) For the location of the WGL-QAR, refer to paragraph Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 31-33-00-00).

4. Procedure

A. Replacement of the Compact Flash (CF) Recording Media from the WGL-QAR (3TU)

F Compact Flash Card ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: For the installation it is recommended to record the correct position of the CF card before its removal.
NOTE: You must not eject the CF Recording Media immediately after the boot procedure. Wait minimum 1 minute after the WGL-QAR fully boots before you eject the CF Recording Media.

RESULT
On the WGL-QAR Front Panel:
On the WGL-QAR Display:
  • Push the MODE button.
  • SYSTEM STATE comes into view.
  • Push the - button.
  • CARTRIDGE EJECT comes into view.
  • Push the SEL button.
  • TO CONTINUE, PRESS + comes into view.
NOTE: If, at this time, the card is not installed, EJECT CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE comes into view.
  • Push the + button.
  • WAITING FOR CLEAN UP comes into view.
  • While you wait, turn the thumbscrew on the access door counter-clockwise and lower the door.
    The location of the Compact Flash (CF) card is at the bottom left of the compartment.
  • In less than 1 minute, the message REMOVE CF comes into view.

  • Push the black eject button below the CF card to eject the card. Remove the card from the slot.
  • The FAIL LIGHT comes on intermittently and SYSTEM WILL NOW REBOOT comes into view.
NOTE: While the WGL-QAR reboots, you can insert a new replacement CF card into the slot. If a CF card is installed after reboot, the WGL-QAR will reboot again.
  • Push the replacement CF card tightly into the slot. If the CF card is not formatted in EXT3 format, the WGL-QAR will re-format and prepare the card.
NOTE: If the CF card has been formatted and prepared by a different WGL-QAR, the card is recycled after a 30 seconds warning.
NOTE: The CF card is recommended but not necessary for operation. The WGL-QAR will operate in this configuration, but with the FAIL LIGHT on and an indication of CF DISK REMOVED. The FAIL discrete will not be on.
  • The FAIL LIGHT goes off.
  • Turn the thumbscrew clockwise by hand to safety the access door.

B. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the WGL-QAR (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-00-710-021).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
