A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001)
   (2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
   (3) Make sure that the slats are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
   (2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • On the HYD section of panel 40VU
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
  • Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are closed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
   (3) Make sure that a MAT - PROTECTIVE is in position on the engine cowl door(s).
   (4) Make sure that access panels 413AL, 413BL 413CL and 413DL are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805).
   (5) Make sure that the strip on the Rib 4 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-82-000-801).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-35-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust-Reverser Check-Valve
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (4) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the thrust-reverser check-valve (5).
   (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (6) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-11-86-02-200 PACKING (6) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (7) Install the new packing (6) on the thrust-reverser check-valve (5).
   (8) Connect the thrust-reverser check-valve (5) to the flanged-tee (7).
   (9) TORQUE the thrust-reverser check-valve (5) to between 7.95 and 7.85 m.daN (58.63 and 57.89 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) Hold the thrust-reverser check valve (5) with a wrench and connect the pipe (4) to the thrust-reverser check-valve (5).
   (11) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (4) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (12) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (13) Put the pipe (4) in position into the half clamp blocks (1), (8) and (13).
   (14) Install the half clamp block (1), washers (2) and bolts (3).
   (15) Tighten the bolts (3).
   (16) Install the half clamp block (8), washers (9) and bolts (10).
   (17) Tighten the bolts (10).
   (18) Install the half clamp block (13) with the washers (12), bolts (11) and nuts (16).
   (19) Make sure that the bushing (20) is correctly installed on the pipe (4) and in the half clamp block (13).
   (20) Install the washers (14) and (18), bolts (15) and (17) that attach the half clamp block (13) to the rib (19).
   (21) Tighten the nuts (16).
   (22) Tighten the bolts (15) and (17).
Subtask 29-11-35-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust-Reverser Check-Valve
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:

   (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (6) Installation of the packing (6):
     (a) Apply hydraulic fluid:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE HIGH-DENSITY FLUID SKYDROL 500B-4 FOR A320NEO FAMILY. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
       1 Lubricate the new AIPC 29-11-86-02-200 PACKING (6) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (b) Install the new packing (6) on the thrust-reverser check-valve (5).
   (7) Connect the thrust-reverser check-valve (5) to the flanged-tee (7).
   (8) TORQUE the thrust-reverser check-valve (5) to between 7.95 and 7.85 m.daN (58.63 and 57.89 lbf.ft ) T .
   (9) Hold the thrust-reverser check valve (5) with a wrench and connect the pipe (4) to the thrust-reverser check-valve (5).
   (10) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (4) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (11) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (12) Put the pipe (4) in position into the half clamp blocks (1), (8) and (13).
   (13) Install the half clamp block (1), washers (2) and bolts (3).
   (14) Tighten the bolts (3).
   (15) Install the half clamp block (8), washers (9) and bolts (10).
   (16) Tighten the bolts (10).
   (17) Install the half clamp block (13) with the washers (12), bolts (11) and nuts (16).
   (18) Make sure that the bushing (20) is correctly installed on the pipe (4) and in the half clamp block (13).
   (19) Install the washers (14) and (18), bolts (15) and (17) that attach the half clamp block (13) to the rib (19).
   (20) Tighten the nuts (16).
   (21) Tighten the bolts (15) and (17).

B. Operational Test
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Do the operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (3) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
   (4) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Install the strip on the Rib 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-82-400-801).
   (2) Install access panels 413AL, 413BL, 413CL and 413DL (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-400-805).
   (3) Remove the MAT - PROTECTIVE.
   (4) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (3) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
