Removal of the Strips

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-52-82-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 413DL.
(3) Remove the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL 413BL 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL 423BL 423CL.
Subtask 54-52-82-160-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 413DL.
(3) Remove the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-805):
(a) For the left pylon: 413AL 413BL 413CL
(b) For the right pylon: 423AL 423BL 423CL.
D. Removal of the Sealants
(1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealants between:
(a) The strip (2) and the forward fairing structure at RIB04
(b) The strip (4) and the forward fairing structure at RIB06
(c) The strip (8) and the forward fairing structure at RIB07L
(d) The strip (22) and the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
4. Procedure(1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealants between:
(a) The strip (2) and the forward fairing structure at RIB04
(b) The strip (4) and the forward fairing structure at RIB06
(c) The strip (8) and the forward fairing structure at RIB07L
(d) The strip (22) and the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.

A. Removal of the Strips
(1) Hold the strip (2) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB04.
(2) Remove the screws (1).
(3) Remove the strip (2) from the forward fairing structure at RIB04.
(4) Hold the strip (4) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB06.
(5) Remove the screws (3).
(6) Remove the strip (4) from the forward fairing structure at RIB06.
(7) Hold the strip (8) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
(9) Remove the bolt (12) and the washer (11).
(10) Remove the bolt (10) and the washer (9).
(11) Remove the screws (7).
(12) Remove the strip (8) from the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
(13) Hold the strip (22) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
(15) Remove the bolt (15) and the washer (16).
(16) Remove the bolt (17) and the washer (18).
(17) Remove the bolt (19) and the washer (20).
(18) Remove the screw (21).
(19) Remove the strip (22) from the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
(1) Hold the strip (2) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB04.
(2) Remove the screws (1).
(3) Remove the strip (2) from the forward fairing structure at RIB04.
(4) Hold the strip (4) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB06.
(5) Remove the screws (3).
(6) Remove the strip (4) from the forward fairing structure at RIB06.
(7) Hold the strip (8) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(8) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (6). (9) Remove the bolt (12) and the washer (11).
(10) Remove the bolt (10) and the washer (9).
(11) Remove the screws (7).
(12) Remove the strip (8) from the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
(13) Hold the strip (22) that is installed on the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(14) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (13). (15) Remove the bolt (15) and the washer (16).
(16) Remove the bolt (17) and the washer (18).
(17) Remove the bolt (19) and the washer (20).
(18) Remove the screw (21).
(19) Remove the strip (22) from the forward fairing structure at RIB07L.
