3. Job Set-up
Subtask 27-92-41-860-054-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the IR alignment procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-004).
   (3) On the panel 23VU:
  • release the FLT CTL/ELAC 1 and FLT CTL/SEC 1 pushbutton switches (on these pushbutton switches, the OFF legends come on)
  • make sure that the FLT CTL/FAC1 is engaged (on this pushbutton switch, the OFF legends is off).
   (4) On the panel 24VU:
  • release the FLT CTL/ELAC 2, FLT CTL/SEC 2 and FLT CTL/SEC 3 pushbutton switches (on these pushbutton switches, the OFF legends come on)
  • make sure that the FLT CTL/FAC2 is engaged (on this pushbutton switch, the OFF legend is off).
   (5) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (6) On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel, push the F/CTL key (on the lower ECAM display unit, the F/CTL page comes into view).
   (7) On the overhead panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the SVCE INT OVRD pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (8) On the overhead panel 48VU:
  • make sure that the AUDIO SWITCHING selector switch is at NORM.
   (9) On the Audio Control Panels (ACP) on the center pedestal and on the panel 20 VU, make sure that:
  • the INT/RAD switches are set to the middle position
  • the legends of all the transmission pushbutton switches are off
  • all the reception pushbutton switches are pushed (no reception).
   (10) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 822.
   (2) Open the access door 822.
   (3) On the battery power center 105VU:
  • loosen the two screws and remove the protective cover.

  • make sure that the indexes move to the full range (index in the fixed white scale).

  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.

  • the index of the right aileron moves up, the index of the left aileron moves down.

  • release the side stick
  • the right spoiler 2 retracts.
  • move the side stick to the left until it touches the stop.
  • the left spoiler 2 extends.
  • release the side stick.
  • the left spoiler 2 retracts.
15.On the overhead panel 24VU:
  • release the FLT CTL/SEC 3 pushbutton switch.
On this pushbutton switch:
  • the OFF legend comes on.
16.On the overhead panel 23VU:
  • push the FLT CTL/SEC 1 and FLT CTL/ELAC 1 pushbutton switches.
On these pushbutton switches:
  • the OFF legends go off.
17.On the CAPT (F/O) lateral console on the side stick:
  • push the takeover and priority pushbutton switch and hold for 30 seconds.
  • release the takeover and priority pushbutton switch after 30 seconds.
You can hear a synthetic voice.
On the panel 130VU (131VU):
  • the red arrow of the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT) annunciator light comes on.
18.On the CAPT (F/O) side:
  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • the index of the right aileron moves up, the index of the left aileron moves down.
  • the right spoilers 3 and 4 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons move to the neutral position.
  • the right spoilers 3 and 4 retract.
  • move the side stick to the left until it touches the stop.
  • the index of the left aileron moves up, the index of the right aileron moves down.
  • the left spoilers 3 and 4 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons go back to the neutral position.

  • release the side stick.
  • move the side stick rearward until it touches the stop.
  • release the side stick.
  • push the side stick forward until it touches the stop.
  • release the the side stick.
On the panel 131VU (130VU), on the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O) annunciator light:
  • the green CAPT (F/O) legend comes on when you move the F/O (CAPT) side stick away from neutral
  • the green CAPT (F/O) legend goes off when you move the F/O (CAPT) side stick back to neutral.
20.On the F/O (CAPT) lateral console, on the side stick:
  • push for 3 seconds and then release the takeover and priority pushbutton switch.
On the panel 130VU (131VU):
  • the red arrow of the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT) annunciator light goes off.
21.On the CAPT (F/O) side:
  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • the index of the right aileron moves up, the index of the left aileron moves down.
  • the right spoilers 3 and 4 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons move to the neutral position.

24.On the CAPT (F/O) lateral console on the side stick:
  • push the takeover and priority pushbutton switch and hold for 30 seconds.
  • release the takeover and priority pushbutton switch after 30 seconds.
You can hear a synthetic voice.
On the panel 130VU (131VU):
  • the red arrow of the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT) annunciator light comes on.
25.On the CAPT (F/O) side:
  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • the index of the right aileron moves up, the index of the left aileron moves down.
  • the right spoilers 2 and 5 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons move to the neutral position.
  • the right spoilers 2 and 5 retract.
  • move the side stick to the left until it touches the stop.
  • the index of the left aileron moves up, the index of the right aileron moves down.
  • the left spoilers 2 and 5 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons go back to the neutral position.
  • the left spoilers 2 and 5 retract.
  • pull the side stick rearward until it touches the stop.

  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.
  • release the side stick.
  • move the side stick to the left until it touches the stop.
  • release the side stick.
  • pull the side stick rearward until it touches the stop.
  • release the side stick.
  • push the side stick forward until it touches the stop.
  • release the side stick.
On the panel 131VU (130VU), on the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O) annunciator light:
  • the green CAPT (F/O) legend comes on when you move the F/O (CAPT) side stick away from neutral
  • the green CAPT (F/O) legend goes off when you move the F/O (CAPT) side stick back to neutral.
27.On the F/O (CAPT) lateral console, on the side stick controller:
  • push for 3 seconds and then release the takeover and priority pushbutton switch.
On the panel 130VU (131VU):
  • the red arrow of the SIDE STICK PRIORITY/F/O (SIDE STICK PRIORITY/CAPT) annunciator light goes off.
28.On the CAPT (F/O) side:
  • move the side stick to the right until it touches the stop.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • the index of the right aileron moves up, the index of the left aileron moves down.
  • the right spoilers 2 and 5 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons move to the neutral position.
  • the right spoilers 2 and 5 retract.
  • move the side stick to the left until it touches the stop.
  • the index of the left aileron moves up, the index of the right aileron moves down.
  • the left spoilers 2 and 5 extend.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right ailerons go back to the neutral position.
  • the left spoilers 2 and 5 retract.
  • pull the side stick rearward until it touches the stop.
  • the indexes of the left and right elevators move up.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right elevators go back to the neutral position.
  • push the side stick forward until it touches the stop.
  • the indexes of the left and right elevators move down.
  • release the side stick.
  • the indexes of the left and right elevators go back to the neutral position.
29.On the overhead panel 23VU:
  • push the FLT CTL/SEC 1 pushbutton switch.
On this pushbutton switch:
  • the OFF legend goes off.
30.On the FCU:
  • make sure that the two FDs are engaged.
NOTE: If they are not engaged, push the FD pushbutton switches on the FCU (glareshield 13VU).

31.On the FCU:
  • push the AP 2 pushbutton switch to engage the AP 2.
This pushbutton switch comes on.
On the upper section of the PFDs:
  • white AP 2 comes into view.
32.On the CAPT (F/O) side stick controller:
  • push then release the CAPT (F/O) takeover and priority pushbutton switch.
The AP 2 disengages.
On the FCU:
  • the AP 2 pushbutton switch goes off.
    On the upper section of the PFDs:
  • white AP 2 goes out of view.
    The warnings related to AP disengagement occur:
  • you can hear the cavalry charge warning for approximately 1.5 seconds
  • on the glareshield, the red MASTER WARN lights flash for approximately 3 seconds
  • on the right part of the upper ECAM display unit the red AP OFF indication is shown for approximately 9 seconds.
33.Engage the AP 2 again.
This pushbutton switch comes on.
On the upper section of the PFDs:
  • white AP 2 comes into view.
34.On the CAPT (F/O) side stick:

  • put a usual load in one direction
The side stick controller is locked.
  • put a higher load until it moves freely
The AP 2 disengages.
You can hear the cavalry charge warning.
On the left part of the upper ECAM display unit
  • the AUTO FLT AP OFF indication is in view
    On the glareshield
  • the MASTER WARN lights flash.
35.On the glareshield, push the MASTER WARN light to cancel the AP warnings.
All the warnings stop, but the AUTO FLT AP OFF indication stays in view on the left part of the upper ECAM display unit.
36.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel, push the CLR key.
On the upper ECAM display unit, the AUTO FLT AP OFF indication goes out of view.
37.On the overhead panel 23VU:
  • push the FLT CTL/ELAC 1 pushbutton switch.
On this pushbutton switch:
  • the OFF legend goes off.
38.On the center pedestal, on the CAPT (F/O) ACP:

  • push the INT transmission pushbutton switch
  • on this pushbutton switch, the green bars comes on.
  • push the INT reception pushbutton switch. Turn this switch to the middle position.
  • this pushbutton switch moves out.
39.On the CAPT (F/O) side stick:

  • push the PTT switch.

  • speak into the microphone of the CAPT (F/O) boomset.
  • make sure that the CAPT (F/O) boomset receives correctly.
  • release the PTT switch.

40.On the center pedestal, on the CAPT (F/O) ACP:

  • push the INT transmission pushbutton switch.
  • on this pushbutton switch, the green bars goes off.
  • push the INT reception pushbutton switch.
  • this pushbutton switch moves in.
5. Close-up
Subtask 27-92-41-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Depressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
   (3) On the overhead panel, on the ADIRS CDU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (4) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Depressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
   (3) On the overhead panel 41VU, on the ADIRS MSU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (4) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

B. Close Access
   (1) Install the protective cover on the battery power center 105VU.
   (2) Tighten the two screws.
   (3) Close the access door 822.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
