K. Alignment and Adjustment of the Cruise Rollers
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Align the inboard cruise roller of the outboard flap:
     (a) Measure dimension K.
1 If dimension K is less than, or equal to 3 mm (0.12 in.):
  • Adjust the position of the cruise roller (180) until dimension J is 3 mm (0.12 in.).
2 If dimension K is more than 3 mm (0.12 in.):
  • Adjust the position of the cruise roller (180) until dimension J is 0 mm (0.00 in.).
   (2) To adjust the cruise roller (180):
     (a) If necessary, remove the cushion seal (175).
     (b) Remove the nut (178), the collar (177) and the serrated plate (179).
     (c) Turn the eccentric (176) until dimension J is correct.
     (d) Install the serrated plate (179) to lock the eccentric (176).
     (e) Install the collar (177) and the nut (178). Tighten the nut (178) with your hand.

Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-63-400-001). Make sure that the correct size guide-roller is installed.
   (4) Measure and adjust the outer-roller:
     (a) Use a straight-edge to measure the alignment between the outboard flap top-surface and the outer fixed-shroud top-surface.
     (b) If the dimension is less than 0.5 mm (0.02 in.), the position of the outer roller (240) is correct.
     (c) If the dimension is more than 0.5 mm (0.02 in.), adjust the outer roller (240) as follows:
1 Remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (239).
2 Remove the bolts (239), the washers (238) and the locking plate (237).
3 Turn the spindle (241) until the outer roller (240) moves the flap in the specified limits.
4 Install the locking plate (237), the washers (238) and the bolts (239).
