A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(2) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the slat/flap control-lever.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable flap track 3 or 4, zone 532 (632) or 533 (633).
Subtask 57-55-11-865-072-A (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the slat/flap control-lever.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable flap track 3 or 4, zone 532 (632) or 533 (633).

A. Lifting the Movable Fairing
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(b) Temporarily install the control rod (7) with the bolt (11), the sliding bush (5), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(3) Temporarily install the top cover (1) with some of the screws (2).
(4) Make sure that:
(6) Hold the movable fairing and remove the nut (3), the washer (4), the sliding bush (5) and the bolt (11).
(7) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the interfaces of:
(9) Align the control rod (7) with the flap drive lever and install the bolt (11), the sliding bush (5), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(10) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 1.0 and 0.9 m.daN (88.50 and 79.65 lbf.in )

(13) Install the end of the bonding strap (8) with the washer (10) and the bolt (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(14) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) and Release Agent-- Water Base - (Material No.14DAB1) to the interfaces of the cover (1).
(15) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2).
(16) Install the top cover (1) with the screws (2).
(17) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) into the groove between the cover (1) and the movable fairing.
Subtask 57-55-11-410-054-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
WARNING:
SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Lift the flap fairing: NOTE: The weight of the flap fairings is approximately 18kg (40lb).
(a) Move the movable fairing to align the control rod (7) with the flap drive lever. (b) Temporarily install the control rod (7) with the bolt (11), the sliding bush (5), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(3) Temporarily install the top cover (1) with some of the screws (2).
(4) Make sure that:
- the flap track No. 3 movable fairing is correctly adjusted (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001)
- the flap track No. 4 movable fairing is correctly adjusted (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001).
(6) Hold the movable fairing and remove the nut (3), the washer (4), the sliding bush (5) and the bolt (11).
(7) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the interfaces of:
- the bolt (11) and the sliding bush (5)
- the flap drive lever and the control rod (7).
(9) Align the control rod (7) with the flap drive lever and install the bolt (11), the sliding bush (5), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(10) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 1.0 and 0.9 m.daN (88.50 and 79.65 lbf.in )
. (11) Safety the nut (3):
- for the flap track No. 3 movable-fairing, with a new AIPC 57-55-05-04-020 COTTER PIN (6) or AIPC 57-55-85-04-160 COTTER PIN (6).
- for the flap track No. 4 movable-fairing, with a new AIPC 57-55-05-06-020 COTTER PIN (6) or AIPC 57-55-85-06-160 COTTER PIN (6).
(13) Install the end of the bonding strap (8) with the washer (10) and the bolt (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(14) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) and Release Agent-- Water Base - (Material No.14DAB1) to the interfaces of the cover (1).
(15) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2).
(16) Install the top cover (1) with the screws (2).
(17) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) into the groove between the cover (1) and the movable fairing.

- the bolt (11) and the sliding bush (5)
- the flap drive lever and the control rod (7).
(9) Align the control rod (7) with the flap drive lever and install the bolt (11), the sliding bush (5), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(10) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 1.0 and 0.9 m.daN (88.50 and 79.65 lbf.in )

- for the flap track No. 3 movable-fairing, with a new AIPC 57-55-85-04-160 COTTER PIN (6)
- for the flap track No. 4 movable-fairing, with a new AIPC 57-55-85-06-160 COTTER PIN (6).
(13) Install the end of the bonding strap (8) with the washer (10) and the bolt (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(14) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) and Release Agent-- Water Base - (Material No.14DAB1) to the interfaces of the cover (1).
(15) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2).
(16) Install the top cover (1) with the screws (2).
(17) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) into the groove between the cover (1) and the movable fairing.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
