B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the ENG section of overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC system 1(2).

G. Disconnect the Electrical Connector on the Pylons Fire Exthinguisher Bottles
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
   (1) Before you touch the cartridge, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the pressure switch (5).
   (3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

H. Installation of the Safety Tool
WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (6) from the cartridge (7).
   (2) Put a M83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE on the cartridge (7).

I. Disconnection of the Pylons Fire Extinguisher Bottles
   (1) Loosen the nut of the coupling (2) to disconnect the line (1) from the discharge head (8).
   (2) Remove the coupling (2).
   (3) Remove and discard the seal (9).
   (4) Put blanking plug on the discharge head (8).
4. Procedure
Subtask 26-21-00-720-066-A
A. Functional Test of the Distribution Piping for Leakage and Obstruction
NOTE: The P/Ns 98D26203005048, 98D26203005052, 98D26203005054, 98D26203005056, 98D26203005058 are parts of the 98D26203005000 EXTING. FIRE TEST CFM LEAP X.
   (1) Obstruction test
     (a) Connect the coupling (14) of the support for pressure indicator (15) (P/N 98D26203005048) to outlet D (detail H).
     (b) Connect a AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the support for pressure indicator (15).
     (c) Open the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (16) of the support for pressure indicator (15) and make sure that the air flows from outlets A (detail D), B and C (detail E), E and F (detail F) and G and H (detail G).
     (d) Close the tap (16) of the support for pressure indicator (15) and close the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
   (2) Leak test
     (a) Install the sealing plug (10) (P/N 98D26203005056) on the outlet A (detail D).
     (b) Install the two sealing plugs (11) (P/N 98D26203005052) on the outlets B and C (detail E).
     (c) Install the two sealing plugs (12) (P/N 98D26203005058) on the outlets E and F (detail F).
     (d) Install the two sealing plugs (13) (P/N 98D26203005054) on the outlets G and H (detail G).
     (e) Open the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (16) of the support for pressure indicator (15).
     (f) Pressurize the line to 2 bar (29 psi) through the manometer (17) of the support for pressure indicator (15).
     (g) Close the tap (16) of the support for pressure indicator (15) to isolate the extinguishing line.
     (h) Monitor the extinguishing pipe (1) for 10 minutes to:
       1 Make sure that there is no leakage.
       2 Make sure that the pressure does not decrease by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi).
     (i) If the pressure decreases by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi), do a leak check:
       1 Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) on the extinguishing pipe (1).
       2 Examine the extinguishing pipe (1) for leaks.
       3 If you find a leak, replace the defective component(s) and do the leak check again.
       4 Remove the Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) from the extinguishing pipe (1) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (j) Close the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
     (k) Open the drain tap (18) of the support for pressure indicator (15) to depressurize the extinguishing pipe (1).
     (l) Disconnect the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY from the support for pressure indicator (15).
     (m) Disconnect the coupling (14) of the support for pressure indicator (15) from the outlet D (detail H).
     (n) Remove the sealing plug (10) from the outlet A (detail D).
     (o) Remove the two sealing plugs (11) from the outlets B and C (detail E).
     (p) Remove the two sealing plugs (12) from the outlets E and F (detail F).
     (q) Remove the two sealing plugs (13) from the outlets G and H (detail G).

B. Connection of the Pylons Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED LIFE (MPL) OF THE CARTRIDGE IS LONGER THAN THE TIME TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED DISCARD OF THE CARTRIDGE.
   (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install new AIPC 26-21-86-52-150 SEALS (9) for left pylon and new AIPC 26-21-86-53-150 SEALS (9) for right pylon on the discharge head (8).
   (4) Connect the line (1) to the discharge head (8).
   (5) Install the coupling (2) on the line (1).
   (6) TORQUE the nut of the coupling (2) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )

   (2) Remove the M83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE from the cartridge (7).

D. Connect the Electrical Connectors
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the cartridge (7).
   (4) Connect the electrical connector (4) to the pressure switch (5).
